Description
This half-day city tour takes you through Salalah, the largest city in Dhofar, also known as the “perfume capital of Arabia.” The journey begins with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque (Open Sat - Thu 8:30 – 11:00, Closed on Fri) (please follow the dress code) and then to the Museum of the Land of Frankincense at Al Baleed, a UNESCO World Heritage site. On your way to Haffa Souq (frankincense market), you will pass by the Sultan Qaboos Palace, where Sultan Qaboos was born in 1940. After that, drive to the gold souk and silver handicrafts market. The tour concludes with a drive through the lush fruit plantations, where we will stop at a fruit stall for refreshing coconut milk or to try small sweet local bananas or papaya.
