Fantastic tour and company! - Highly recommend this tour and company. Very efficient and attentive to our needs. Both our guide and driver were flexible and took good care of us. Great way to see Costa Rica in a short time!

Great all-around taste of Costa Rica in just a few hours. - Fantastic small group tour! Our driver, Pablo, was so skillful getting around, and our guide, Alberto, was so nice and knowledgeable. I think my favorite part of the tour was the Monkey House. Imagine living in the jungle with all of those monkeys as neighbors! We saw a lot of different birds on the river. The crocodiles were scarce and lazy, which was fine by me. Lunch was delicious! The scenery is spectacular. Thank you, Odyssey Day Tours. Well done!

Splendid! - One of the best shore excursions we've ever been on. Jam packed agenda, monkeys, Crocs, loads of birds, and a guide skilled at spotting macaws and toucans we would have never seen on our own. Big shout out to tour guide Nestor for a great day.

Fabulous day out. - Picked up at the end of the pier. Albert was a fantastic guide and together with Enrico, they took us off the beaten track and into some amazing places. Alberts knowledge of trees and nature were a real bonus. His use of a hand scope to capture pictures was another added bonus

Well organised tour - The tour was well run. We were met at the pier and departed on time. We very much enjoyed the tour guide (Heiso) information and presentation. Our driver (sorry forgot his name) was excellent. The air conditioned bus was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we did not get to see any macaws or other colourful birds, however we did see a few resident crocs. The greatest ones were the capuchin monkeys. We also saw an agouti and a few iguanas. The lunch provided was also adequate and no-one got any stomach upsets after. This is important in your travels! If only many more animals were "playing the ball", I would've given it five stars

Good trip but not 10 activities - The trip was good but we didn't get to do everything that was advertised, which was disappointing. We got back just after 3pm , so we had enough time to do all 10 activities. We only did 7.

Unfortunately, it being a... - Unfortunately, it being a holiday caused there to be three hour delay in traffic, and some of our visits to places were cut short Hazel was a great guide and driver tried his best. But we should have been told about the traffic delay more than the day before. It happens every long weekend.

Just OK at best - I was disappointed in this tour. First of all, I tried to communicate with Odyssey tours in the days leading up to our cruise, because I wanted to confirm the meeting point for the tour before we boarded a ship with limited , but they did not respond to messages through their email link and did not answer their phone. I finally contacted Viator and someone from Odyssey finally got back to me. Then, while on our cruise ship, the evening before we were to dock in Costa Rica, we got an email that they wanted us to meet at 0730 instead of 0800 "due to a change in the ship arrival and departure times" (there was no change in our cruise itinerary, so this was obviously for the convenience of Odyssey Tours). We did arrive at the meeting point at 0730, but obviously not everyone got the message, because we sat on the bus until 0800 anyway, waiting for the last passengers. The bus: A 22-passenger minibus with tiny seats and no leg room. I am only 5'8", but my knees were smashed against the seat in front of me. I can't imagine a 6'2" dude sitting in those seats. The back row of seats were raised, even though the ceiling back there was low, and the last couple to get on the bus looked at the seating and said, "No way" and left the bus. I can't imagine anyone over 5 feet tall fitting into those back seats. Our guide Hazel did speak English, but was sometimes difficult to understand due to her accent. The biggest problem though was that she did not use a microphone or amplifier, so we could not hear most of what she said over the noise of the engine. We asked her at least three times to speak louder, and she would, briefly, and then revert to her normal volume. She actually spent most of the drive talking only to the passengers in front of the bus. She never repeated their questions for the rest of us to hear, so we had no idea what she was speaking about. The "scenic overlook" we stopped at was mostly blocked by trees, but we did get a glimpse of the ocean. We went to something called "Monkey House" (according to the handprinted sign on a piece of old wood), which appeared to be someone's back yard. There were capuchin monkeys running and swinging around everywhere. Some jumped onto the guests' shoulders. If you like that sort of thing, great, but it was a little overwhelming for me. I got a few good pictures of monkeys. Next we went to the Hotel Villa Lapas, where they had a re-creation of a jungle village, with a cantina and a chapel. We did see some interesting plants there, but it was a re-creation, with a gift shop (of course). Next we took a river cruise on a tour boat. Had to wait 10 or 15 minutes in the heat to board the boat. We did see 3 crocodiles, though none of them were out of the water. We also saw several birds. The tour boat basically stayed fairly near the dock, going upriver a bit, then downriver a bit, and appeared to have engine trouble at one point, as there were 4 guys leaning out the back doing something to the motor for awhile. The boat was shaded, so that was a good thing. Lunch at an open-air restaurant was good. Chicken, beef, or seafood over rice and salad (though no salad dressing) with some sort of flavored lemonade to drink. After lunch, most of our stops were for shopping (3 stops). If we went into or through Carara National Park, I was not specifically aware of it and did not see any signs. I'm still not exactly sure what the 10 things in this 10-in-1 tour were. I counted the scenic overlook, the monkey house, the hotel with re-created village, the river cruise, lunch, and 3 shopping stops. This company needs to at least put a microphone/amplifier on their bus and not sell the back row of seats to anyone over the age of 8. I would not take this tour again.

Not a good experience - We had a very disappointing experience with Odyssey. We book the tour several weeks in advance and were told to arrive at 8 in the morning. We arrived at 7:45 and was greeted by Diego. He said there were three seats left in the back. The back seats have a bulkhead so only people under 5 feet 6 inches could sit there. My husband is over 6 feet tall and would not fit. The bus left without us and Diego said that we were late arriving and that the seats remaining would have be adequate. I got upset and told him otherwise. DO NOT BOOK WITH ODYSSEY.
