Additional Information

“Land of Noah” travel agency organizes a trip to the pearl of medieval Armenian architecture - Tatev Monastery, which was built in the 9th-13th centuries.
Thanks to the construction of the Wings of Tatev, the longest cable car in the world (5.7 km), the complex has become one of the most visited places in Armenia. On the way to the monastery you’ll have an opportunity to taste armenian wine in Areni winery.

Our next destination will be Khndzoresk. You will see that many of the caves have been carved out by man. You will find the ruins of a village, a beautiful ancient church, very old tombstones and the swinging bridge. It is was built in 2012 and has 160 meters long, 1,5 meters wide and rises 36 meters above the ground. The bridge connects the two banks of the village. Admire the splendid view of the gorge from the bridge.

Awsome experiences - My wife and I had two first class tours with tour guide Ms. Lilit from Land of Noah. From the very start, we found the agency most accommodating in terms of our particular touring preferences and needs. As for Ms.Lilit, she proved to be the most acomplished and amazing guide: not only does she have a great expertise in the history, geography, architecture and landscapes of Armenia but she also communicates it in a very engaging way. Additionally, she is very knowledgeable when it comes to talking about curret issues and she is a great conversational partner. On the other hand, Land of Noah’s drivers took us safely along beautiful and long routes and kindly made stops at our request. We enjoyed both tours greately.

A long, but fascinating day! - Our private guide as Arman, an energetic and thoroughly knowledgeable young man. We felt safe with Asen, our driver, as he navigated the mountain roads and occasional traffic. We had perfectly clear and sunny weather for the dramatic Wings of Tatev cable car ride - we have been on many before and this was one of the best. The Monastery was in a gorgeous setting and very historic. Arman, at our request, took us to a ocal kebab (BBQ) restaurant where we had the emost delicous lunch prepared by locals in a town close to the ropeway. The Khndzoresk cave town was fascinating and scenic and was accessible by a suspension bridge over a deep gorge - not at all scary- even though it is called the swinging bridge. Arman found a local 4x4l driver to take us up and down the hill to the bridge as my husband’s knee was not up to the 700 steps down and back. On the way back, we tasted a large variety of wines at the Areni Winery- a nice break in the long drive, If you wish to see tehe cave in Areni in which the oldest wine in the world was found, ask to see that in the morning to make sure that it will be open., A long but fun and interesting day! Highly recommended.
