Highly recommend - Captain Chris was the perfect host and captain. He was full of interesting information and a very experienced sailor. We experienced a squall with heavy winds and rain as we got to the Māori sculptures and he handled it all expertly, the boat and the guests. He is an active sailor in the community. Highly recommend!

A Fantastic Experience with Sail Barbary! - Our trip with Sail Barbary to the Māori Rock Carvings was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, everything was seamless and well-organized. The boat itself was comfortable and eco-friendly, making for a peaceful and smooth sailing experience. The views of Lake Taupō were breathtaking—crystal-clear waters, stunning mountains in the distance, and a perfect mix of sun and breeze. A huge shoutout to our captain, who was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and engaging. He shared fascinating stories about the lake, the history of the carvings, and even pointed out interesting spots along the way. The Māori Rock Carvings were truly spectacular up close—an impressive piece of art surrounded by nature. If you're in Taupō or Rotorua, this is an absolute must-do! Whether you're looking for a relaxing cruise, stunning scenery, or a bit of history, Sail Barbary delivers it all. Highly recommended!

Hojo - The captain was on time, professional, humorous at times, people friendly and we had a very good time even though this was my first sail boat ride and I was nervous for awhile.

Fabulous trip - It was just the very best way to see the lake and the Mauri carvings. It was so peaceful and Chris was both informative and funny. We did the evening cruise, lovely glass of vino, stopped to look at all the carving and then we were able to jump in for a swim.
