Authentic food tour - Excellent tour of the small site. Although they don’t process the olives during the summer we left understanding how the olives are prepared and preserved naturally. Andria was knowledgable and very welcoming. A fantastic way to spend some time inTavira and pick up some local treats to take home! Obrigada Andria!

Lovely tour - Our guide was very personable and made sure to accommodate my husband‘s allergies, talking to us in advance. The tour was very interesting and informative, and the olives and sauces, along with the fresh sourdough bread, were delicious.

Olive factory tour and tasting - We cycled past here and we’re warmly welcomed in by Andria and her sister such that we bought some fresh figs- delicious and boned in for a tour the next day. Our bikes were locked up and kept an eye on and we thoroughly enjoyed the informative tour despite the machinery not being in action as it was not olive picking season. The tasting of olives, cheese, marmalade, fig jam, honey and piri piri sauce served with mum’s homemade bread and washed down with local wine was great fun. The olive oil was delicious as were the olives and we were pleased to make several purchases. We even saw Mum in action on the forklift truck! Thank you to the whole family for a memorable experience

Olive production facility tour and tasting - Andreia was an amazing host. She and her family work at the olive factory everyday and know the ins and outs of the process very well. We got to taste varieties of their olives; wine, cheese and bread from other local producers. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Travira

Unexpected amazing experience! - What a great experience! Andrea gave us a tour at the end the day, showing us the process to produce the olives, followed by a tasting of the 5 types of olives, another bean (?) they produce, and some wines, jams, sauces, etc that they make. I wish we’d brought more luggage to be able to take more home. Thanks Andrea!

Great tour, interesting and good value - I organised a large group from our lawn green bowls club, 33 in all, to the Helder Madeira Olive Factory experience in Tavira on the Algarve. I have had so much lovely feedback from our members, saying what an interesting and enjoyable tour. Andreia, who showed us around the factory, was knowledgable, never boring, throwing in some amusing anecdotes. She could not do enough for us and was so attentive to those who had slight mobility problems, providing chairs for them when it came to the tasting. The long tables were spread with a variety of olives and local produce to taste, and we were fortunate to have there an owner of a local vineyard, who gave a brief talk on his wines, and we got to taste some white, rosé, and red, which were all very good. I could tell by the noise level that everyone was enjoying the tastings. Before we left we visited their small shop which seemed to be doing good trade. I just could not resist some tasty things to take home with me, including some wine. I can highly recommend this tour. It's for any number of people and great value for money. We all came away a good deal wiser about the factory's natural way of processing the delicious Algarvian olives. Thank you again Andreia, and I hope to bring another party to visit later in the year. Interesting cultural tour - Lovely small family business - very informative and friendly. Great tasting spread with opportunity to buy local products. Might suggest having seats at the tasting tables - more enjoyable and sociable to sit while eating.
