Operating Schedule: The tour begins at the Roman Bridge stop. Departure times are: 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. Stops include Vila Gale Tavira Hotel, Descobrimentos Bridge, 4 Águas (Salina-Aquatic Birds and Tavira Island), Tavira Castle, and Rua João Vaz Corte Real. Passengers can use the Hop On Hop Off system to explore these locations. The transit time is hourly.

Well worth doing - We had a little difficulty finding the meeting point but once we did the journey was delightful and interesting. We had an unexpected ten minute stop at Tavira Castle, just time to take in the views across the city and a quick photo shoot. Well worth the very small fare.

A fun way to spend an hour. - A fun way to spend an hour. The train takes you round Tavira, across the salt pans with great views of the Ria Formosa and back by way of the castle. It is advvertised as a hop-on hp-off tour but I don't know why as the nly time it stopped long enough to get on or off was at the castle. There is o commentary so take the roure map with you so you can get your bearings (we got ours at the hotel). The departure point is the opposite side of the Roman Bridge to the Town square. As others have said it is very bumpy, but that is to be expected in a town where the majority of srees are cobbled.

We didn’t learn much! - The train was 20 minutes late to the meeting point, and the grumpy driver didn’t share any information so it wasn’t clear if/when there would be opportunity to hop off! The route was interesting but it was impossible to know what we were looking at as the audio includes lots of different languages and there was music playing! Also, the combination of the cobbles and the train made for more noise and a very bumpy ride. We had fun, and it was nice to see , but we are none the wiser about this pretty place!

Where to catch the train? - Unfortunately we did not have any moments. The location from where the train could be connected with at 12 noon was not mentioned. I did text as was suggested when I inquired but no reply. It was our last day in Tavira but will be back as everything else about our holiday there was 5 star.

Hip on, hip off where? Ripoff! No audio at all and keep on taking money. :( - The radio on Train 1 did not work. The driver did not advise at start of trip and did not stop at points to let over 25 people know what was going on. We did not know if we had to look left or right and where the landmarks were. You are ripping off tourist and we're not honest just taking money. After our trip he stopped and let knew group on and again did not tell them the "radio was off". Dishonest by not announcing as your advertisement offered four languages and none were received. You have harmed Tavira Tourism and should refund us immediately as we did not learn anything or where points were.

Money and time wasted - A scam. He doesn't count or teach anything. An hour thrown away, circling streets that have absolutely nothing, and cobbled together (most), making it even more insufferable. We couldn't see when it was over.

Never learned anything about tavira - Booked excursion for 8 people & was very disappointed. Driver wasn't very helpful & I expected to learn about tavira on the excursion however there was no audio explaining were we were or what we were looking at! only interaction with the driver was to tell us we had 10 minutes at the castle. Overall very disappointed with the excursion & wouldn't recommend

A disaster ! - A 10:00 am booking and myself and three others arrived early , but no sign of the train ! , waited til 10:30 then walked to the tourist office who advised it was running at 11 am ! Fortunately arrived at 10:50 and the train departed at 10:55 . No commentary available and no WiFi either despite these being shown as available, so unfortunately I didn't learn anything new about Tavira . An experience to be forgotten !

Not recommended for people with back problems! - Very bumpy train ride, couldn't hear the commentary because of all the noise made by the train bumping along! Couldn't wait for ride to finish.

Bad bad bad - Ticket didn’t have start location on ticket. I left messages hours prior through the ticket site. No reply. I found a starting location on Google maps but the train never came. Finally after looking around for a while, I found a sign that showed that it started a block away temporarily though it had already started and we missed the train. I asked for a refund and got no reply!
