Great intense hike - If long hikes through steep terrain don't scare you, this is a great daytrip for you! Bring plenty of water and snacks and enjoy the views

Vardzia - August 2023 - a great tour, the driver and the guide George did a great job. George guided us perfectly through the Footprint Path hike as well as through the cave town of Vardzia. Everything was very well organized, we booked the tour for 4 as a private tour. The hike is beautiful with great views. Vardzia is very exciting and very impressive - the long journey is worth it.

Great hike, terrible planning! - First, the good news. The hike itself was great — pretty strenuous with lovely views at the summit. There is a section where you’re walking on a ridge — not dangerous but kinda scary if you’re afraid of heights (like I am). Also, the descent is very steep — quite tiring for legs/knees. Giorgi was an amiable guide. As for the bad news, the hike ends somewhat abruptly in the middle of nowhere (where the van was supposed to pick us up). The company uses a complex system of transfers to get people with different itineraries to where they need to be. But, time management is not a strong suit! This left me (and the guide) with an unplanned 2-mile walk (at the end of a strenuous 13-mile hike) to the nearest road, a 30-min wait by the side of a dusty road for an unplanned ride to the nearest town on a local bus, and an overall 3-hour delay in pick up. To make matters worse, the guide (Tornique) who arrived with the van offered no apology and attempted to make light of the situation. I would not do another tour, or even an inter-city transfer, with Budget Georgia.
