Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino - Located 2 km from Sighnaghi, the Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino is a Georgian Orthodox complex originally built in the 9th century and remodeled in the 17th century. Now a nunnery, it is a major pilgrimage site due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century evangelist of Georgians. The monastery, surrounded by tall Cypress trees, overlooks the Alazani Valley and the Greater Caucasus mountains. Closed by the Soviet government in 1924 and converted into a hospital, it was reopened as a convent in 1991. Restoration work was carried out between 1990 and 2000 and resumed in 2003.
Sighnaghi - Known as “the city of love,” Sighnaghi allows couples to marry at any time of the day. The artist Niko Pirosmani famously covered the town in flowers for his beloved, inspiring the song “Million Scarlet Roses.” Visitors can stroll through Italian-style streets, see the longest fortress wall in Europe, and enjoy views of the Alazani Valley. Afterward, return to Tbilisi.
