Additional Information

The Kartli region, renowned for its diversity, comprises numerous cultural sites, ranging from historical landmarks to captivating landscapes. With origins tracing back to the first half of the III millennium BC, the region’s history spans various eras from classical to medieval, seeing several transformations. Kartli was deemed the abode of deities and was represented on earth by priests, leaders, and monarchs. Each stratum of the soil retains remnants of different eras. The region, located at the cultural crossroads, held immense significance as it bridged the East and the West. Its rocky trail still bears evidence of wheeled vehicle movements down the centuries. Mithraism or Zoroastrianism periodically ruled the region, with autonomous priests carrying out sanctified rituals. They conducted sacrifices on their altars, exalted female deities, and kindled sacred fires. More stories await on the tour.

Thank you Nino (Ungo) and Mr Gocha for a wonderful day! Must do when visiting Georgia. - Fantastic tour, mainly because of our wonderful guide Nino (Ungo) and Mr Gocha the driver. Nino is so knowledgeable about all aspects of Georgian history and politics, she is so passionate, and I learnt so much. Each of the sites are fantastic and lunch (extra cost) is delicious. Thank you Nino and Mr Gocha!

Highly recommended, Tota, the guide, very nice!! - All the activities were so interesting, and the places so beautiful. But, most of all, Tota (Nicholas), the guide, was sooo nice and had a huge knowledge of every activity programmed: Stalin museum, cathedrals, the caves... The explanations were very detailed. Highly recommended!!! Oh! We chose the meal for 45 lari, it was worth! Delicious traditional georgian food.

Georgia Country Wine tasting - My first trip to Georgia and first wine tasting tour ever- Awesome!! All thanks to the amazing "Princess Madi" for making this an exciting adventure! Thank you Madi for sharing your love and knowledge of "all things wine" as well as your love for your country. Madi your spirit is a blessing! As for the wine, great selections were tested. I've learned quite a bit about what goes into the making of a wine and naming it. I can't wait to impress my family and friends. Lastly, many opportunities for photo ops. Wear something cute but know you will be climbing very old stone tower stairs for spectacular views and photos.

Georgia country, not state - Great tour, my first time in Georgia. The Gamarjoba Tour guide, "Shoti" was awesome! Knowledgeable, without being boring. I appreciate an experience guide with a sense of humor. Cave City was my favorite stop, with its history, scenery and serious workout maneuvering the large rocks. The wine tasting was an added touch. Don't miss out on the Georgian lunch spread; fantastic! The many selections were quite appetizing. I wish I had room in my suitcase to pack more clothes. Too many opportunities for amazing photo ops. I will choose Gamarjoba Georgia Tours on my return trip.

A day trip into history - The trip is very well organised: there are no long period of times in the bus for transportation and also you have free time at each stop to further explore the surroundings. Plus, our guide Ana gave a lot information about what we were seeing which made the visit more meaningful

Good value for money - Meri was a great guide - enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Overall, the tour was an interesting insight into interesting sights, at a fair price. While I enjoyed the sights on the Kazbegi excursion more (if you’re short on time and forced to choose between the two), this was still great value for money and I would recommend it.
