Tsminda Sameba Cathedral - The Holy Trinity Cathedral, also known as Sameba Cathedral, stands as one of Tbilisi’s most iconic landmarks. Chronicles of Georgia - Created by renowned Georgian sculptor, painter, and architect Zurab Tsereteli, the Chronicle of Georgia is a significant monument. While most of Tsereteli’s works are located in Russia and Georgia, his Tear of Grief sculpture gained international recognition when it was presented to the United States by the Russian government to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks.
Abanotubani - Abanotubani, or the Baths District, is one of Tbilisi’s oldest areas, situated on the right bank of the Mtkvari River. The district is named after the ancient baths built on naturally hot mineral waters.
Kura River - A boat trip on the Mtkvari River offers views of popular tourist spots, including the old town, Metekhi Cathedral, the sulphur bath district, Rike Park, the Peace Bridge, and more.
The Bridge of Peace - Spanning the Mtkvari River between the Metekhi and Baratashvili Bridges, the Peace Bridge connects Erekle II Street and Rike. Opened on May 6, 2010, it has become a symbol of modern Tbilisi. The bridge was designed by architect Michele de Luca and lighting designer Philippe Martino.
Metekhi Cathedral - Located in the historic Metekhi district on the left bank of the Mtkvari River, the Metekhi Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary houses the tomb of St. Shushanik. After the ecclesiastical split between Armenians and Georgians in the 7th century, Catholicos Kyrion moved the saint’s remains to this church. Queen Tamar later adorned the saint’s body with gilded clothes.
Legvachtahvi Gorge - The Leghvtakhevi waterfall, standing 22 meters tall, is located in Tbilisi’s ancient Abanotubani district. The name Leghvtakhevi comes from the Georgian word for fig, as the area was once abundant with fig trees.
