By approximately 9:30 am, you will arrive in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Mtskheta was a significant trade and cultural hub during pagan times and was the first location in Georgia to officially embrace Christianity as the state religion. It’s no surprise that the city is home to some of Georgia’s most important Christian landmarks, including the UNESCO-listed Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the Samtavro Monastery.
After strolling through the charming streets of Mtskheta’s Old Town, the journey continues towards the mountains.
Traveling along the Georgian Military Highway, renowned as one of Georgia’s most scenic routes, you will have the opportunity to stop at the Jinvali Water Reservoir, explore the beautifully preserved Ananuri Castle, sample pure spring and mineral water, and enjoy the panoramic views from the Friendship Monument platform.
In Gudauri, you will have 2 to 3 hours to spend as you wish. Assistance is available for renting ski equipment, finding a ski instructor, arranging a paragliding flight, or selecting a cozy restaurant. You decide, and we assist.
On the return journey, you can relax after an eventful day and take a nap while the driver ensures a safe and swift return to your hotel.
