Very quick and professional service - It was a short call when I started to explore opportunities for a next-day Kazbegi trip. MegaCity people ( thank you, Nina!) were extremely helpful and managed to find me a driver for the next day. Driver Moris was also an excellent guide, so I enjoyed the day-trip (10-19) very much! Big advantage of having a car of your own is a more flexible and perhaps more tailored agenda. The traffic on the road maybe very heavy, so one might want to have more stops than the tour bus can afford.
It is definitely a destination to go for - mountains, views, churches, hiking opportunities, tunnels to protect from avalanches etc - it is more than you can grasp, so, if possible, make at least one night stay-over at Kazbegi.

Tbilisi to Kazbegi and Everything in Between - I like the fact that the tour operating company contacted us regarding the pick up time and location, via whats app as soon as we made the payment online on - viator.com , this made us feel very secured and relieved even before we reached the city.
The tour guide - Ms Meena was very informative and she spoke in Russian, Georgian and English .
She filled us in with information about the city of Tbilisi as we moved out of the city towards Kazbegi.
We were given enough time to move around a place of interest and take pictures, make memories.
She also guided us about the local cuisines of Georgia and what to eat while we stopped for lunch.
The view along the drive was picturesque and beautiful, and makes you ponder on Gods wonderful creation and the work of his hands.
However I dont remember seeing the great Kazbegi mountain. While we waited for those who wanted to go up the Gregeti Church ( for an extra 15 lari by 4x4 jeeps ), we were parked below in a parking zone not knowing that , it was the closest we would get to Kazbegi mountain.
It was not a great site of the mountain, and I’m not even sure which was the kazbegi mountain.
This information was not communicated to us. Or maybe she mentioned it in Russian or Georgian and forgot to mention it in English
Therfore my only regret on this tour is- I took the Kazbegi tour, went all the way there and still never really saw the great Kazbegi mountain.
I thought after Gregeti Church we would go to Kazbegi mountain which was in the order of the itinerary on viator.com.
Other than that everything was well organized by the tour operators.

Massive delays - We started with 45 minutes delay at our meeting point and were not informed about the delay although mobile phone number and mail address were available! At the stops we always continued our trip much later than initially communicated. The restaurant was disappointing, badly organized and food of a poor quality! The bus did not stop at the city center of Kazbegi. We had to walk there from a parking spot outside the center. The spots were nice but the planning offers a lot of potential for improvement!
