Mtskheta remained the coronation and burial site for most Georgian kings until the 19th century. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the second-largest church in Georgia after the Holy Trinity Cathedral, is known as the burial site of Christ’s mantle and is a principal Georgian Orthodox church.
