Rtvelli + Culinary Classes + Gala Dinner - Delving into the age-old customs of winemaking and hospitality
When: September, October
Starting from Tbilisi, we embark on our journey to Kakheti, participating in the joyous Rtveli festival. You’ll dive into grape harvesting, feeling like a local viticulturist. We’ll visit Napareuli’s dual winery and the one-of-a-kind ‘Museum of Kvevri and Kvevri Wine’. We’ll get to sample three types of qvevri wine: Rakatsiteli Kakheti, Alazani Valley, Saperavi.
We’ll then engage in grape collection, coupled with sampling various grape varieties, followed by crushing grapes in a press (satsnacheli) to create palate-pleasing grape juice.
Later, you’ll roll up your sleeves and join cooking master-classes of famous Georgian delicacies:
- Pita bread baking;
- Khinkali preparation;
- Churchkhela creation;
- Khachapuri making;
- Barbecue cooking.
A grand feast marks the finale of our day, featuring wholesome, appetizingly diverse food, and impressive wine – a fitting climax to your Kakheti journey.
