After arrival in Baku, begin your second day by visiting the Palace of the Shirvans, a stunning example of medieval palace architecture in Azerbaijan. Explore the Maiden’s Tower, Dzhuma Mosque, antique and carpet shops, and the Carpet Museum, an impressive building located on the seafront. Take a stroll in Naberezhny Park (Boulevard), the second largest in Europe, or consider a boat trip.
Continue your journey by crossing two country borders, visiting various historical sites, ancient and medieval constructions, and more. In Georgia, visit a farmer’s house to see a unique 300-year-old wine cellar. Learn about traditional wine-making methods and taste some regional wines. During the trip, explore the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia, Mtskheta, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Jvari Church and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Later, head to the town of Gori to see its historical sites, including Uplistsikhe Cave Town (1st millennium BC) and the Stalin Museum. Don’t miss the magnificent mountain region of Kazbegi along the Georgian Military Highway.
Spend time strolling the streets of Georgia’s beautiful capital, Tbilisi. The sightseeing tour includes Metekhi Church, Sulphur Baths, Narikala Fortress, the Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral, and more. All these sights mark the end of the Old Town and are within pleasant walking distance. Then, head to Armenia to visit Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For a different perspective, take an excursion through Dilijan’s charming nature and extraordinary architecture. Visit Lake Sevan, climb up Sevan Peninsula, and see Sevanavank Monastery atop the mountain. Explore Yerevan on a city tour, including its ancient sites preserved to the modern era: Etchmiatsin Cathedral, St. Hripsime Church, and Zartnots Temple. Visit the State History Museum of Armenia. Take an excursion to Garni, the only pagan temple (1 AD) in Armenia, and nearby, the beautiful Christian Monastery of Geghard, carved out of solid rock.
On Day 11, start your tour of the Tatev Monastery, a masterpiece of medieval architecture and Armenia’s stunning natural landscape. The monastery is located on the edge of a giant gorge and can be reached by bus through the pass or by the world’s longest ropeway (5.7 km), registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. From the longest non-stop double track cable car, enjoy an incredible view of the merge of heaven and earth from a height of 320 meters. On Day 12, after breakfast, drive back to Tbilisi and bid farewell, hoping you enjoyed every moment of the journey!
