Swedish History Tour - Fabulous tour. Learned a lot about Viking period of Swedish history. Olof is extremely knowledgeable and explains history and important points about every Site we visited. He is very patient and answered all of our questions. Christian is a very careful driver. He got us to all our destinations safely. The tour vehicles were very comfortable. They seated 7 passengers and the driver. This tour is a great way to learn a lot about Swedish history in one day.

Knowledgeable and entertaining - Getting to know the history of the Vikings was fascinating, especially as told by our guide, Olaf. He was very knowledgeable and his presentation was very entertaining. There was a lot of walking on this tour, which I hadn’t anticipated.

So glad we chose this tour - Asa was a fount of knowledge - it was so interesting listening to her tell the stories of peoples indigenous to the lands. So much to take in but because of the way she told the stories they will be remembered. An absolutely amazing experience

A bit of information overload - This was my second time taking this tour--the first time was in the winter and I looked forward to seeing it in the summer. It felt more rushed than my first tour. Our guide was VERY knowledgeable, but frankly went off on some tangents and gave a little too much background. We didn't get fika and we were rushed through the lunch stop. Still, there are great places on the tour and we enjoyed it.

Gustav was an extremely... - Gustav was an extremely good guide. He made history come alive and kept it interesting. It was a long day and there weren’t that many sights but I imagine that’s the nature of the tour. I did enjoy the tour with Gustav being totally the highlight of the tour.

On the GO for 9 hours! Educational. Not for shoppers or casual tourists. - Very good tour. The Fika (coffee) stop was weak and I would've preferred shopping time or beer time. Lunch was rushed and that upset me. I'd like more time to ourselves during the tour. Show me the neat items, give me time, move to the next place, show me items, give me time. This was go, go, go and in 9 hours I think it could've been handled better. I really liked how we were in a van and there were only 9 people total. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English and was easier to understand than other guides around Scandinavia and the Baltics. I recommend this for individuals that want to learn history, see nice OLD objects, and be ON THE MOVE for 9 hours.

My expectations were off - My expectations were way too high. I assumed there would be museums and Viking artifacts to see in the towns. There was not. There are lots of Viking runes which were fun. But we stood by each one for a very long time listening about it. We went to the Viking mounds, but we didn't walk around them. We just stood for a long time and listened about them. There was a museum there, but it was not included. Guide told me it wasn't good anyway. But I didn't realize it would be the only chance for a Viking museum. We purchased tickets to the museum by the church at the end of the tour, and got to see some pre Vikings artifacts. Super glad we did that. (Instead of listening to lecture about the church.) There was no bridge (only where the bridge used to be). Guide told us contradictory information. First he said that mounds were not used for burials, but the mounds we saw were. Many questions were treated as condescending. Or he would ask us things and then be negative about people's guesses. If you want to see the countryside and listen to history lectures, you will love this. I had different expectations.

Tour lost through miscommunication - Unfortunately we had to miss this tour due to miscommunication. We were told that the meeting point was at our hotel, Hotel Lord Nelson. On the given day we waited as posted at 9 am for a half hour, but nothing happened. Our hotel receptionist then called the tour operator on his local phone and was told that they had notified us of the change by email the previous evening - this was too late, we were out of reach of the internet at that point. They said that they were not allowed to drive into the old city at the time of the pickup, but the receptionist said that traffic was allowed around the hotel until 11 am. Besides, they could have notified us earlier, we had booked the tour at least a week before. In the meantime, the tour had left. Big disappointment !!! We had to leave the next day to the USA. We think a refund for this quite expensive tour would be appropriate. As our hotel was known to the tour operator, it would have been safer to call the hotel directly to notify us.
