Neither rain or snow dampens a Viking! - Carl was engaging, funny, and a full of historical tidbits about all things Viking. We had a great group of folks full of curiosity which made the trip all that more enjoyable despite rain and snow. And oh the fika was delicious. Thankyou Carl!

Fun and educational - Our guide, Gabriel, was great at explaining the stories behind the relics and historical sites. And I liked the variety of experiences: from ancient runestones in the countryside, to the small village of Sigtuna, to the huge cathedral in modern-day Uppsala.

Gabriel = Amazing - If you’re even mildly interested in Vikings, this is the tour for you! We had Gabriel as our guide and companion for the day and we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the tour. The weather was a little difficult but he still found a way to keep us exploring the ruines and moving to warmer sections!

Interesting and enjoyable - Knowledgeable tour guides, good spot for lunch, great fika. Threw me off that there was such a large amount of driving time with no tour guide on board, but very enjoyable.

Sigtuna & Uppsala countryside and Fika tour - The history provided by Karl was very interesting and he was well educated in Viking history. The ruins are interesting although it seems every important building during the time period burnt down and was rebuilt. We had lunch in Uppsala and there were a number of options. The food was good and we had plenty of time. The only reason we did not rate this tour a 5 star was the air conditioning in the car was horrible and I was unfortunately in the back sweating all day as it was unseasonably warm. Olof was our driver and he would try to reduce the heat by leaving all the windows and doors open. Both Olof and Karl were great!

Disappointed - We booked this tour for a chance to explore the Swedish countryside and learn some Viking history. From the description, we expected a small bus with a tour guide. Instead the group was split into two vans. The tour guide drove one van and had to repeat himself when the group arrived at each stop. The biggest problem was that our guide decided to do our itinerary in reverse and skipped two stops - the Uppsala Castle and Uppsala Cathedral saying he was worried about traffic. It was a 9 hour tour on a Wednesday and I did not see any especially egregious traffic that should have slowed us down. I would think they’d have the timing for the tour worked out so that we could visit all the sites advertised. We also lingered at one spot over 30 minutes to get a rambling lecture on Viking lineage and geography. We did learn interesting facts about Vikings at our other stops but felt like at this particular one the guide was just trying to fill up time. We got back to our hotel more than 1/2 an hour early - so again, I think there was enough time to see all the attractions we paid for.
