The experience was just as magical as I remembered. Our guide, Ash, was exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate, providing fascinating insights into the glowworms and the unique cave ecosystem. The intimate group size, just myself and my partner, allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquil beauty of the caves without feeling rushed or crowded. The adventure took us through tight, winding caves where, at times, we had to crawl on our bellies. This added an exciting and challenging element to the experience, making it all the more memorable. The glowworms themselves were absolutely mesmerizing, creating an experience akin to being under a starry sky, but within the confines of a temperate cave. The tour was well-organized, with all necessary safety measures in place, ensuring a comfortable and secure experience despite the challenging terrain. Exploring this hidden landscape felt like uncovering a secret wonder, far from the usual tourist spots. If you’re seeking a unique adventure that combines natural beauty, a bit of physical challenge, and a touch of magic, the off the beaten path is an absolute must. Absolutely amazing all around - We had Ash as our guide and he was so great. The tour was absolutely amazing, we learnt about the caves and the glowworms without it being an information overload and all of our questions were welcomed. It was such an incredible experience I would 100% recommend to anyone considering if they should do it or not. Everything you needed in terms of outfit and equipment and Ash also takes lots of photos for you along the way which is so kind. I cannot recommend this experience enough!!

Best caves in waitomo! - Ash was phenomenal and the tour of the gorge and caves was a memorable experience! Small group and light hearted fun! Important to be in good physical condition as you will be scrambling and climbing rocks and wading through knee deep water. Can’t miss this!

A wonderful experience - Our guide, Ash, was knowledgeable, fun and safety conscious. The cave exploration would have been great by itself: a rushing stream, stalactites, stalagmites and other rock formations, native plants on the way to the cave. But the glow worms were amazing, and the picture of us with them in the cave was perfect. A wonderful experience!

Fantastic tour by fantastic people - This was a great tour of the glow worm caves ran by a fantastic family owned business. The caves were amazing and the glow worms were fascinating. I would without a doubt recommend this to anyone looking to take a glow worm tour!

Once in a lifetime experience - Our tour was amazing. Only six of us with our guide. You wear the clothes they provide for good reason. You will get dirty and wet! You will squeeze through tiny spaces in rocks and climb giant boulders. Very physical tour!!
