Carnivore Combo for 2 - We booked the Carnivore Combo for 2 at 1pm to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. All the staff were fantastic, and our first tour with Jody was amazing—she was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience so enjoyable. Feeding the arctic foxes was a highlight, and we loved meeting Specsaver the owl, Sunshine the snake, and Zeus the Serval.
After the tour, we chatted with Loren in the gift shop, who was so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to book the 3pm tour as well! This time, Sarah led the way, and she was equally excellent, sharing so much knowledge about the animals and making the tour just as memorable.
The entire experience was unforgettable, and the dedication and passion of the staff truly stood out. I can’t recommend this enough for anyone looking for a unique and interactive day out. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing place! Highly recommend - Absolutely recommend this place to visit. Such a warm and welcoming place, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The animals look loved and well cared for. Such a variety of animals to see. We didn’t have any small children with us on this visit, but you can see this would be an amazing place for younger children with the dinosaurs, and play areas etc (including soft play). There is a lovely little food place on site with good prices, and many bins located around the area which was nice to see. You can feed the animals labelled on the food you can buy, and you learn a lot about the animals there. There are also handwashing stations around the area. I’d definitely go again, and we aren’t local.

Meerkats and Lemurs experience - Meet the Meerkats and Lemur experience.
The guide was a knowledgeable lady who led my wife and I to the different enclosures to meet the animals and feed them. This was bought as a present for my wife who is mad on Meerkats, with the added extra of visiting the Lemurs as well. All I will say is, she has not stopped talking about it yet!

Fantastic experience with the animals! - We went to the Hoo Zoo to use my husband’s animal experience voucher. We fed, handled and got up close to some of the animals. It was such a wonderful experience and one we would love to repeat! The animal keeper who showed us around our experience was so lovely and well informed, and answered all of our questions about the animals. My husband and I held a snake, fed the arctic wolves, saw a Seville cat and stroked the owl. It was such a wonderful wholesome day and would recommend to anyone with a love of animals! Thank you to Hoo Zoo for a lovely welcome.

Positive experience - My boyfriend and I travelled 4 hours for our day out and were so glad it was with worth the trip! The lady in the gift shop was so helpful and really lovely which is always a great introduction to somewhere. We loved wandering around to see all of the animals and taking photos, as well as going to some animal feeds such as the deer and wallaby where Kayleigh allowed us to feed them and was so patient whilst we did this! The app notifies you in advance of this happening which is a great feature.😊my boyfriend and I also did the Carnivore experience which we loved and learnt so much. All aspects of it were amazing but the fox section was especially amazing and I loved getting to feed them! Jody was so great with answering everyone’s questions and made it that extra bit enjoyable. We will definitely recommend to others and hope to come again soon!

A good day out for all ages - Took two children 11 and 8 years of age to redeem a voucher to have an experience with the meerkats. Jody the keeper made the hour long experience very enjoyable and was a wealth of knowledge. The experience involved three different meerkat environments each time getting hands on feeding and handling the meerkats. We explored the rest of Hoo Zoo and loved seeing all the animals birds and getting to stroke the skunk and snake brought out by the keeper. Wellies are a must as was very muddy and puddles. Had a lovely hot chocolate to warm us up at the end of the day. Would recommend this as a day out for all ages and will return to do another animal encounter.

Son’s 6th birthday experience - We had the best day out even with the bad weather. My son absolutely loved his dinosaur experience. The fact that he got to feed the dinosaurs and get right up and close was amazing. The women who did the show around had a great knowledge of dinosaurs and was very lovely.

Experience - Meerkat - What a great afternoon. We went to experience the Meerkats & how amazing. Worth every penny, we went into 3 different pens and spent a full hour in total with the meerkats. They are so friendly & funny. The staff were amazing too & we had time after to experience the whole zoo & even the dinosaur walk haha. What a great team to be around and what lovely well looked animals. Thank you Hoo Zoo. You all do an amazing job x

Great Carnivore experience! - Great day out and carnivore experience, Mel was very knowledgable and was the perfect host for our experience. Please pass on our thanks. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Lovely zoo with some unusual animals. Will be coming back:)

Animal experience excellent - Hoo zoo is a great day out for everyone.
I went with a friend and we did the carnivore experience. We were in a group of 6, the staff member was very knowledgeable about the animals we met. Serval cat, artic fox, boa constrictor & specsavers the owl!
Lovely to see all the animals had a good size enclosure and well maintained.
My only criticism would be the smaller birds in the enclosures near the 'action barn' to look a little small for them. Would be better if they had a larger area to fly.
However a great day out will be back
