Additional Information

Discover the haunting history of a 18th century fortress, transformed into a Jewish ghetto and a Nazi political jail during Second World War - a poignant part of European past that had a global impact.

Positioned conveniently near Prague (45-60 min drive), Terezin concentration camp offers insight into World War II chronicles - the distinction between concentration and extermination camps, the deceit of Nazi propaganda used to shield reality from the world, the Gestapo political penitentiary and personal narratives, and the existence and traditions within a Jewish Ghetto.

The city is bifurcated into two sections: the previous Gestapo political jail (which later turned into a communist penitentiary), and the Jewish ghetto, falsely advertised as ‘a city granted to the Jews by Adolf Hitler during the war’. You’ll have the opportunity to explore a Jewish Museum, prior Jewish living quarters, prayer chambers, a crematorium, and ceremonial rooms.

Great tour with fantastic guide - What a great tour. Michal was so informative. A very interesting and sobering place to visit. Michal was very punctual, friendly and great to talk to. Great transport and lovely place for lunch. Would definitely recommend this tour, I'm glad we decided to do a private tour.

Wonderful personal experience and guide!! - Michael was amazing! So personable and genuine, it was like taking a day trip with a friend. We all loved him! He is laid back and let's you govern the day you want. We wanted to sleep in some so we went later in the day. Although the tour is a solemn one, we all really enjoyed it! He is very knowledgeable about the subject, picked a wonderful place for lunch, and the transportation there was very comfy. THANKS MICHAEL!!

Great Tour of Terezin - I had assumed that I would be on a bus with 20 people. Instead it turned out to be a private tour for an extremely reasonable price. Michal was very knowledgeable, had grown up locally, and provided me with a glimpse into Czech life on the way to Terezin. Once we got there, he provided an exceptional tour in the areas that was allowed, and then found me a private tour guide in the areas that were restricted. He tailored the tour to my knowledge and interests. After, he took me to a nearby town for an Czech lunch fit for local culture. All in all this was one of the best tours I have had.
