Setting Sail on Koh Lanta

After leaving my finance job in Seoul to backpack through Southeast Asia, I found myself on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta, Thailand. Day two brought us to the enchanting Koh Haa, known for its stunning underwater landscapes. Our dive guide, Yannis, led us to a breathtaking encounter with a juvenile whale shark. A Dive to Remember

On the final day, we returned to Koh Bida, this time with Oi as our guide. The number of divers had dwindled, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the underwater spectacle. We were treated to a macro smorgasbord, spotting a leopard shark just before our safety stop. The sight of cuttlefish mating and a school of fish dancing in unison was mesmerizing. Green sea turtles, sea snakes, and eels added to the vibrant tapestry of marine life.

As I surfaced from my last dive, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the experiences and connections made during my time on Koh Lanta. The island’s natural beauty and the warmth of its people had left an indelible mark on my journey.
