Great Sunset cruise on the Red Barron - Picked up in a gangster minibus decked out in gold and driven to the pier. The experience was not what we expected but was brilliant. These trips are what you make it. The staff on the Red Barron were brilliant. Sunset was beautiful, great bar on board, comfortable and was plenty of room as not that many on the trip. Music was not to everyone’s taste, but the Captain was in charge and what a great character, we enjoyed every minute. I’d highly recommend this trip but not if you take life too seriously.

Koh Samui Sunset Cruise Dinner - Good trip - good food. Staff went out of their way to ensure our well being. Spoilt by the cloudy weather, so could not get a great sunset. Definitely not a disappointment.

Fun but although food being cooked... -
Fun but although food being cooked on-board could be considered an advantage would have proffered more of a fine dining experience with pre-prepared grub so that we didn't have to wait so long and then que up. Lack of entertainment on-board meant there was some people falling asleep immediately after the buffet. We actually put on a movie on a phone.

Not what we expected, at all - Firstly, this is most definitely NOT a ‘romantic sunset dinner cruise’, as the description would have you believe. It is a boat (a lovely boat, to be fair) that is jammed packed with other tourists and families with children. When we first arrived at the pier I was horrified to see how many people were apparently getting on the same boat as us! Secondly, there is no chance to ‘enjoy birdsong’ as the music onboard was so loud, and so terrible!! I have no idea what the playlist was but it went from power ballad to euro-techno to Thai-pop. By the end of the cruise people around us were laughing, thinking what awful music could possibly come on next?! On the positive side, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Don’t expect a ‘5 course meal’ as our e-ticket advertised, but the buffet food was very nice. The welcome drink was purely your choice of fruit juice with rum, but the soft drinks and water were unlimited. If you have kids they’ll enjoy the onboard magician who will do tricks and make them balloon animals. Unfortunately, however, this simply wasn’t what was advertised. I was using this cruise as a back-up platform to propose to my girlfriend but thank goodness I didn’t need it!! The Red Baron needs to decide what it wants to be. If it wants to be a party boat then by all means be a party boat. Play loud party music, get the drinks flowing, get the owner booming on the mic. But if the Red Baron actually wants to provide a ‘romantic sunset dinner cruise’ then it needs to lose the over bearing party-pop, replace it with some quieter authentic Thai music, stop kids from going and just let the natural beauty of the Koh Samui coastline do the talking. The views are stunning! Lastly, and admittedly not the Red Baron’s fault, it’s just too cloudy in October so unfortunately there was no ‘incredible sunset’. By that time it didn’t matter though. We wouldn’t do this again, especially for THB 5000.

I expected something more for the... -
I expected something more for the value of money paid. not very romantic. they should not allow kids on board. the food was not perfect, more international food would make it better. only thai food in the buffet. the only thing we liked was the boat

Wasted my time and money - Really awful experience. I book this tour 3 months before my trip and was informed by viator that my ticket was canceled because they rented the boat for a private charter . They said I gm could go next week, but of course I will be back in the USA before that’s date. Viator got me a ticket for the next day and then the next day that was canceled. I’ve been to Thailand 13 years in a row . First time Koh Samui. I never come back here again.

unforgettable experience - Firstly, i was told to meet at the pick-up point @ 3.15-3.30pm; turned out we had to wait on the street for almost an hour for the pick-up minivan to come. Once we got to the pier, we were completely shocked. I was expecting to have a romantic dinner sunset cruise with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday as i was told on the website. However, the reality is that there were a large group of tourist with kids running around and people talk very loudly. This is not the kind of “romance” I was looking for. If i knew from the beginning that there are going to be so many people on this yacht, I wouldn’t have chose to come at all Moreover, it says on the website that we would have a “cocktail of the day” as a welcome drink. All we got was some fruit juices. The staff told me that there were no more cocktails for us because they gave all out already. Again, I was not happy about it. Anyways, we got onboard but we could barely find a decent seat to enjoy the view as there were so many people around. There was no peace at all, we werent enjoying ourselves as we couldn’t sit comfortably; also, there were kids screaming and crying next to us. Once again, please don’t say this is a romantic sunset cruise when we cant even eat the dinner properly. We had to eat with our plates on our laps. This is not what we paid for. It was almost $200 USD that we paid. We were expecting to have a real nice experience on the yacht. Needless to mention about the weather, we sailed into the thunderstorm which got us soaking wet. I understand that we can not control the weather, but the service and the overall experience could have been better. Afterall, we didnt have what it said to be a “ Romantic Sunset dinner” and most importantly we were so disappointed that my birthday celebration was totally ruined
