• Kuldhara Abandoned Village - As per local legend, the village was vacated overnight in the early 19th century. Salim Singh, the Diwan (minister) of Jaisalmer at the time, reportedly wanted to marry the village chief’s daughter. When the villagers declined, he threatened them with dire consequences. To safeguard their honor, the villagers, along with those from 83 nearby hamlets, left, cursing the land to remain barren forever.
  The village’s haunting silence and deserted buildings have inspired numerous ghost tales. Visitors and paranormal enthusiasts have reported hearing voices, experiencing sudden chills, and observing unexplained occurrences. In 2013, a paranormal team from Delhi claimed their drone malfunctioned over the village, attributing it to supernatural causes.

Begin the tour with a jeep ride, visiting landmarks such as the ancient, abandoned village of Kuldhara and Jessiri Pond, an oasis in the heart of the Thar Desert, before heading to the golden dunes. This is an overnight desert adventure where you sleep outdoors on the sand dunes, with nothing but the open sky and stars above. Away from city lights, the desert provides stunningly clear views of stars, constellations, and occasionally the Milky Way.

You will arrive at the dunes via a camel safari, typically in the late afternoon. As the sun sets, there is time to enjoy tea and snacks, relax, take photos, and savor the tranquility. The camel guide prepares traditional fresh food over a wood fire, and after dinner, you can sleep under the stars on charpais (cots) or thick mattresses. Warm blankets are provided, as desert nights can be chilly, especially in winter. The deep silence is only interrupted by the desert winds.

The following morning, after enjoying tea and breakfast, you will return to your hotel.
