Highlights
  • The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery - Meetingpoint for the tour, (we do not enter the Museum)

Our tour starts and ends at the Mauritshuis, an important historic landmark built for count Johan Maurits. It marks the Dutch Golden Century and its museum halls can be visited after the tour to see both the latest exhibitions and classical pieces from Rembrandt and Vermeer.

  • Standbeeld Haagse Harry - Discover the difference between Hagenaars en Hagenezen, often referenced by The Hague’s key figure ‘Haagse Harry’ in its eponymous comic books. We will stop for a photo at the iconic statue of this local hero.
  • Noordeinde Palace - Tread in the footsteps of royalty before the majestic Royal Palace Noordeinde, where the Dutch royal family resides. If you are lucky, you may see them waving at the crowds from their balcony.
  • Paleistuin - Step into the beautiful gardens of the Royal Palace, where locals come together for a stroll or a picnic.
  • Binnenhof & Ridderzaal (Inner Court & Hall of the Knights) - Walk through the courtyard of the Binnenhof, where the Dutch government holds parliament. Learn about its ambiguous origin, how it held up through the centuries and see the members of parliament ride their bicycle to the office. The Ridderzaal is accessible with a guided tour, which can be done after the tour.
  • Grote Kerk - Built in the late Middle Ages, this towering church can be seen from almost anywhere in the city centre and is an architectural delight.
  • The Hague - Explore the city centre on foot and access places where tour buses and boats can’t reach. Our knowledgeable guides are passionate storytellers, who know the ins and outs of the city and will tell you how to experience it like a true ‘Hagenees’.

Informative & fun - Oscar was informative, opinionated and well informed. He covered the essentials while adding a bit of flair and spice to the narrative. Perfect English, without a trace of accent.

The big picture of De Haag/ The Hague - Oscar was a wonderful storyteller and gave good historic commentary about the earliest beginnings in the 1200's through the current monarchy. We were told fun facts and touching stories including things that happened during WWll. Questions were answered and it was a very complete tour with great info on the buildings and restoration going on.
