Thermopylae, Meteora, Delphi, Arachova, Distomo, and a Romantic Night Stay at Delphi

Battlefield of Thermopylae - Our journey begins in Athens, followed by a drive to Thermopylae. Here, we’ll explore the Thermopylae Innovative Centre of Historical Information and view the Statue of Leonidas.

Roussanou Monastery - Next, we head to the awe-inspiring Meteora to visit several monasteries perched atop 1000-foot rocks, including the Holy Monastery of Varlaam, Rousanou, and the Holy Trinity.

Delphi - After a scenic drive through mountains and fertile valleys, we arrive at Delphi, nestled beneath the 3000-foot Mount Parnassos. We’ll visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, the Archaeological Site of Delphi, and the Temple of Apollo.

Arachova - We’ll take a coffee break in Arachova, driving through its charming stone villages where you can snap photos and purchase souvenirs.

Distomo Massacre Memorial - On June 10, 1944, Waffen-SS troops of the 2nd company, I/7 battalion, 4th SS Polizei Panzergrenadier Division, led by SS-Hauptsturmführer Fritz Lautenbach, conducted a brutal massacre of Greek civilians in Distomo as a reprisal for a partisan attack. Over 214 men, women, and children were killed. Survivors recount horrific acts, including bayoneting babies, stabbing pregnant women, and beheading the village priest.

Delphi - Overnight stay in Delphi. Travelers are responsible for arranging accommodation for themselves and the driver. Accommodation is not included.

Mycenae, Epikourios Temple, Nafplion, and Ancient Olympia

Archaeological Site of Olympia - Olympia, a small town in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula, is renowned for its archaeological site, a major Panhellenic religious sanctuary of ancient Greece and the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. Dedicated primarily to Zeus, it attracted visitors from across the Greek world and played a key role in shaping the identity of ancient Greeks. Despite its name, Olympia is not near Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Twelve Olympians.

Archaeological Site of Mycenae - Mycenae, an ancient city with over 5000 years of history, is one of the most significant ancient cities in world history.

Fortress of Palamidi - Nafplion, the first capital city after the Greek Revolution of 1821, is home to the impressive Palamidi Castle. We’ll take a short train tour of the old city and visit Bourtzi by taxi boat.

Our journey begins in Athens.

Our trip encompasses seven of Greece’s most crucial archaeological locales.

This 48-hour adventure will take you to Greece’s most highly sought after landmarks. Along the route, I’ll provide extensive insights into the history, myths and customs.

We’ll explore Delphi, a marvel of the world, and Meteora’s religious destinations. Next, we’ll travel past Thermopylae, known for the battle of the 300 Spartans, and the wonderful Arachova. Overnight stay will be in Delphi (lodging is not arranged. The guests are responsible for booking their and the driver’s accommodation). The evening can be spent leisurely enjoying various activities.

The next day, you’ll visit Mycenae, the temple of Apollo Epikourios, and the delightful coastal city of Nafplion, along with a tour of Palamidi castle and the Ancient Olympia. We will have some spare time in Nafplion to possibly grab some food or wander around in the picturesque city.

This tour is flexible and can be customized to suit your preferences.

• We can pick our customers up from wherever they want inside the region of Athens.
• If the pick up is from the Airport or from the cruise dock please provide all the details to the operator after from the pickup.
• If there is a Strike in The city Center or a special event that effects the tour,the tour may change start time or ITINERARY under the instructions of the operator and the agreement of the customer
• Please provide as much as possible contact details to the operator even after the booking
• If the booking will start from Ath Int Airport the time of the tour start to count fro the pickup of the customer,so do not stress your self in cases of Delay of flights.
• If the tour is combined with a transfer the Maximum Luggage ( american size 32kl) can be no more than 3 and the start time of the tour starts at the time of the first pickup eg :( There is a customer that buys a tour starting from Cruise terminal but first he/she wants to be transferred to his Hotel to do the check in and then to start the tour. ) if the customer wants extra services than the ones that paid for,the operator will charge him extra and the payment will be done to the driver in cash or credit card.
• Accomodation is not included. The accomodation for all plus the driver must be done by the travellers.
