Worth the trip. - Incredible views and the Monestaries and their stories were so interesting. Very helpful multi-fluent guide Maria. Worth the longish transport to get there.

Local Tourist Office Samarkand Salom-Travel.com - Being of the elderly, I can only advise you the local agency of Samarkand Salom-Travel.com , for its seriousness, its skills and professionalism, from the beginning to the end of our stay whether in administrative and file management as by its guides and drivers (all as discreet, serious and competent ) thank you to them for this trip amply successful, I wish him many tourists

SPRING in Meteora - A wonderful day with the team from Meteora Thrones. Maria was an excellent guide. Kind, lovely girl with a lot of knowledge about what she talks about. We were returning by train to Thessaloniki and she made sure all the time that we don't miss the train. I highly recommend Meteora Thrones to everyone planning to visit Meteora, you won't regret it. :)

great experience in Meteora - Great experience, with all transports perfect on time even though the weather was not good. The guide was a really experienced one and he made our group to understand the greatness and the unique atmosphere of the place. Highly advisable!u

A fabulous tour of Meteora - A very well managed tour of a spectacular area. It was a long day (departing Thessaloniki @ 9.30am and returning to our hotel @ 10.45pm); however we saw so much. Our driver and Tour Guide were terrific.

Up in the Heavens - We were the only people on our tour who came from Thessaloniki. Everyone else came from Athens for the day. Communication was managed well though our arrival in Kalambaka was a little mixed up but we missed nothing so that was good. The trip from Thessaloniki was approximately 4 hours each way so it was a long day. Having said that, it was worth it to visit the area of Meteora. We visited 3 monasteries and saw three others from a distance. We had more than enough time at each of them. Ladies must wear a skirt (even over long pants) and no skin can be seen from the waist up so come prepared as they are very strict. Skirts were available at all three monasteries to be borrowed if you don't mind sharing with many others. Our guide, Clement, was easy to understand and made the transitions at each stop easy. Highly recommend the tour as it is a very special place.

Seamless - I travelled from Thessaloniki which is about a 3.5-hour commute. Most of the other tourists came from Athens. The train was not running due to an accident, so they contacted me, explained and sent bus tickets instead. The bus station was only 7 minutes and a 7-euro taxi ride from my hotel. At the train station I exchanged the vouchers they sent for bus tickets. The bus stalls were clearly marked. And the transfer was easy with 30 minutes in between. In Meteora, they picked me up at the stop before the bus station and brought me up the hill to meet the rest of the group which was mid-sized (maybe 12 people). The guide was knowledgeable. We had 1 hour each at the two larger monasteries and half an hour at a smaller one. There were a handful of pit stops for scenic photos. If I were doing it again, I would wear sneakers as the stones are worn in places and slippery. There are 300 steps uphill to and then downhill from the largest monastery.

Great Trip-Here's some tips to make it better! - I highly recommend doing this, even if you have only one day. The trains were not working due to floods, so we took a bus. The bus took 2 stops each way for 20 minutes which ate a lot of time-food was bad and overpriced. Tour guide Clement was fantastic. My tips: a) Make sure cell phones are charged and bring a power back-no USB ports on bus b) Bring a book or something to do-I even brought a pillow to make the trip more comfortable c) bring your own snacks, water, etc-the bus stop food had long lines and was bad except chicken kebabs d) Bring dog food and cat food for the starving animals you will see at each monastery-they really need your food!! Starving large white dog at St Stephens. e) They will not allow women in pants at one monastery and will make you buy a wrap skirt for 3.50 Euros-plan your clothing in advance. There are many steps at one monastery.
