Highlights
  • Loutra Pozar - The distance is 110km and lasts approximately 1½ hours. One explanation regarding the meaning of the name “Pozar” is “after the charcoal” while another one is “under the fire”, which forms an evidence that in the past the village was located in a different place that was burnt or set on fire and the villagers gave the name “Pozar”…

Beautiful falls - Such beautiful falls and the thermal baths were so nice! Each bath costs 3 euro but well worth it and there is a coffee and refreshment stand near the last of the thermal baths. The last one is pretty deep on the one side. The Edessa falls were gorgeous and the was a secret cave behind the falls that I highly recommend. We had Lazaros as our tour guide and he made some excellent lunch accommodations which were very much appreciated!

Beautiful experience in nature - Very nice park near this river in the middle of the mountains of Greek Macedonia. You can take advantage of the cold water and dive into the stream for free, or pay € 3 per adult to use the outdoor pools of hot thermal water. So we did, and it was very nice to go from warm to cold water. The place is crowded in August but still livable

Pozar thermal bath - a very good relax. - Not far from Loutraki in North Maccedonia ( not to confuse with Loutraki west of Athens) the Pozar bath is located in a forest. The entrance fee is 3 Euros per person and everyone can enter the two bathes : one is like an ordinary swimming pool with chaires and the second is a big open bath with small cells for changing and descending stairs to the water with natural waterfalls . The heat in the bath and the waterfalls is 37°C. The bath is situated along the stream but in this June was almost dry. Worth a visit , 30 minutes in water and a good relaxtion . What is missing in my point of view is more cahires after the bath.
