Highlights
  • Loutra Pozar - The distance is 110km and lasts approximately 1½ hours. One explanation regarding the meaning of the name “Pozar” is “after the charcoal” while another one is “under the fire”, which forms an evidence that in the past the village was located in a different place that was burnt or set on fire and the villagers gave the name “Pozar”…

Great tour! - Our tour leader Lazarus was amazing. Well done! Thermal baths in Pozar time allocated was 2hours however you could spend 1hour hike and 40mins in the bath that is enough. Since you can only pick one bath and stay in it. The short hike was fantastic, great photo spots. The restaurant stop in Edessa was one of the best restaurants we went during our stay. We went to 3 excursions (incl Mt. Olympus and Meteora) this was the best in terms of time allocation and pace.

Beauty and stunning waterfall - First of all we had a female tour leader who was extremely great in showing us all details of the places we were passing by. She was really helpful and full of knowledge about the places. Fortunately for us she was also our tour leader when we went the day before to Meteora. With her explanation we could enjoy all the facilities that the Thermal Baths could offer. The natural waterfalls along the river, with thermal water, made it comfortable for us to enjoy ourselves. An enjoyable experience for all the family. NOT TO BE MISSED WHILE IN THESSALONIKI!!!!

Relaxing day trip to Pozar & Edessa - What an amazing day! Each stop had something worth seeing or eating! Our driver, Mr Famos was extraordinary, skilfully negotiating ridiculously narrow streets. Our guide, Lazarus was knowledgeable and oh so funny! Good value! The restaurant that Lazerus recommended was exceptional. The staff wonderful, the food delicious! Watch out for the portion sizes though, we over-ordered by at least two meals. We just ordered starters and a salad so we could try a bunch of things but the starters were meals by themselves! Pozar was a relaxing time and as long as you pay attention to the guide obtaining towels and paying for entrance is a breeze! Edessa was a truly amazing town! A waterfall in the middle of the town and a wonderful feel to it. Would have been nice to have stayed a little longer. All in all a wonderful day that we can highly recommend!

Explore Macedonia and live like a local - Highly recommend this tour if you want a relaxing day out and to see some very interesting aspects of Greek life. The Pozar baths were very warm and relaxing, cheap and with friendly staff. The quiet little village you go to afterwards for lunch is just gorgeous, you can enjoy a lovely, cheap delicious meal with the locals from the restaurant recommended by the guide or choose your own, of which there are many. I was afraid it would be some kind of bad restaurant with overpriced food they ferry tourists into but it was quite the opposite! Lastly, the waterfalls in Edessa are wonderful to see and there is a small park you can wonder around also. I enjoyed this trip because it gave me an insight into normal Greek life for people in these areas and I did not feel like I was intruding or bothering people for visiting, if anything they were welcoming and happy to show you their culture. Lazarus, the guide and the bus driver were both very professional and friendly. It was well, well worth the money and I had such a great day. Thank you!

Interesting trip - Visiting the thermal bath was a nice experience. The restaurant in Orma recommended by the tourguide for lunch was excellent! We loved Edessa and the waterfall, unfortunately there was no time left to see more of the town. It was a nice day. Our tour guide (Lazaros) gave a lot of interesting information in excellent English.

Astonishing sightseeing and relaxing tour - So many things in one tour- a cave, waterfalls, beautiful villages and healing water The Pozar baths can use a lot of TLC in changing areas, entrance can and has to be made safer, cafe had excellent coffee but was reeking of bleach and staff wasn’t too good at English Guide and driver were above average, super knowledgeable and friendly Lunch at a village restaurant was above any one place I’ve been recently
