Great Experience - best walking tour - I did on saturday the walking tour of the upper town and it was amazing. He is telling so many stories and anecdotes and can really spawn interest out of any corner of any small street. tour was so good that I joined the tour on Sunday as well to visit the city center. that was also super interesting. ( but if you have to choose one - the upper town is much much nicer to really experience Thessaloniki)

Great tour of Upper part of Thessaloniki with the multi-talented Giorgos. - Giorgos conducts an excellent free walking tour of the Ana Poli (upper town) of Thessaloniki- a quiet and beautiful residential neighborhood in Thessaloniki, most of which was not destroyed in the great fire of 1917. There is a lot of character here - the beautiful church of the Prophet Elijah with the leaning dome tower, the ancient (1500 years) church of St David which houses the amazing mosaic fresco showing an unbearded picture of Jesus from the Book of Revelations- with lots of amazing detail by a highly accomplished artist whose name has been lost in the mists of time, the Vladates Monastery (which is built on the house of Jason, an early Jewish believer in the gospel where St Paul and Silas stayed for a brief period), the original walls of Thessaloniki, rebetiko music - all in all, a tastefully curated tour of this amazing city. Please donate well at the end of the tour - people like Giorgos need support to keep this going.

Highly recommended! - I made the tour on a cold, rainy day, but I still didn't want it to be over. It wasn't actually "a tour", but a philosophical and, in a way, therapeutic walk, an art performance.

Very memorable and amazing - Walking tour with Giorgios was very good experience. He loves his city and he made us fall in love too! He was talking about history in very passionate way, with sense of humour too.. Moreover he took bazuki and played two songs what made this tour really memorable. After tour he was open to answer all our questions.

The big picture of Thessaloniki with Giorgios - great - One of the best free walking tours i have ever joined to. Even me, who was never into history was thrilled by the exciting stories George told us. We joined both tours and if there was a third or fourth, we would have been always in the first row ;-)

Thessaloniki's hidden treasure explained by a real pro guide! - Amazing Tour! The guide (Georgios/George) was really kind, open, experienced and made us feel great and to fall in love with the old town. It's rare to find a guide who is so dedicated and so nice. I honestly didn't know much about the upper part of the city and its history and thanks to this tour my personal goal would be to visit and explore this hidden treasure more often. Thank you, George!
