Hanoi - Ba Be ~ 240 km

Thai Nguyen - At 7:30 am, meet at the hotel. Before starting, spend about 30 minutes checking the bikes and ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready for a fun-filled motorbike adventure tour. Although there isn’t much to see on the route today, it’s a great chance to test biking skills and get comfortable with the bike (Russian Minsk).

Travel through Thai Nguyen city, continuing through many timeless villages connected by the main trade route between the Northeast region and Hanoi Capital. This offers the first glimpse of rural Vietnam, setting the tone for the upcoming days. Lunch will be on the way.

Ba Be National Park - Arrive around midday. Enjoy a local boat trip to explore part of Ba Be Lakes, visit Goa & Han Ma island, and cruise to the village. Upon arrival at the homestay in Bo Lu village, receive a warm welcome from the host family of Tay people. Enjoy free time to shower and walk around the village. Dinner and overnight stay in Ba Be.

Ba Be - Tinh Tuc - Bao Lac ~ 178km

Bao Lac - Today involves a medium drive with more slopes, soon leading to the wonderful mountain scenery and village rides. Lunch will be at a local restaurant along the way, then continue the journey to Bao Lac.

Arrive in town in the late afternoon. Check into the hotel and enjoy leisure time to shower and rest. Dinner and overnight stay in Bao Lac.

Bao Lac - Meo Vac - Dong Van ~ 96 km

Meo Vac - After breakfast, depart from Meo Vac to Ha Giang. Be sure to have a camera ready for today as the journey leads to Heaven – a stunning area surrounded by rocks of various shapes and sizes, with opportunities to see and visit traditional hill tribe houses.

The scenic route ascends a pass, then descends into Meo Vac valley, a beautiful area near the Chinese border. Have lunch in Meo Vac, then take time to climb over the Ma Pi Leng Pass, where the beautiful mountain ranges and the Nho Que river offer an amazing view!

Dong Van - Continue along the zigzag roads to Dong Van, visiting remote areas and witnessing the locals’ resilience in their environment. Stay in town to explore the ancient streets with old H’mong houses made of clay bricks and tile roofs, built centuries ago. Overnight in Dong Van town.

Dong Van - Yen Minh - Quan Ba - Ha Giang ~ 150km

Ha Giang - Enjoy a leisurely drive from Dong Van, back to Yen Minh & Quan Ba, maintaining a good pace without rushing. Visit the famous Vuong Palace, a high-ranking H’mong family residence during French colonial rule, attracting interest for its blend of European and Chinese architecture.

Then, head back to Quan Ba and downhill to Ha Giang for the night.

Note: Quan Ba Sunday market is worth visiting!

Ha Giang - Hoang Su Phi - Bac Ha ~ 209 km

Bac Ha - A long but scenic drive along the zigzag road from Ha Giang to Bac Ha makes for a busy day. Some road sections may be challenging, so depart early from Ha Giang to reach Bac Ha before dark.

Dinner and overnight stay in town.

Note: The road from Ha Giang to Hoang Su Phi, then Xin Man – Bac Ha, can be difficult and impassable during the rainy season, but a backup plan to travel to Bac Ha is in place.

Bac Ha - Sapa ~ 120 km

Sapa - Enjoy a free morning in Bac Ha to explore (especially if it’s Sunday for the market). In the afternoon, a 3-hour drive to Sapa awaits. Enjoy free time to explore this tourist town and stay overnight.

Explore Around Sapa - Night Train to Hanoi

Hanoi - Consider riding downhill to a village, then leave the bike and spend a few hours trekking to Ta Phin or Ta Van village. Ride to Lao Cai train station (1.5 hours) in the late afternoon, where the bikes are loaded onto the train before having dinner in Lao Cai.

The train departs at 8:15 pm from Sapa, arriving in Hanoi around 5 am the next morning. The Motorbiking Tour in North Vietnam concludes at the hotel.
