Perched atop a hill with a panoramic view of Santorini, Pyrgos is a medieval gem. Its casteli bears remnants of the Venetian Empire, scattered with churches and ruins, exuding an aura of dominance and wealth.
Vothonas
Traverse the narrow lanes and stairways that weave through the heart of this village. Possessing a unique charm that sets it apart from Santorini’s other settlements, Vothonas offers no view, nor, the reputation of Fira or Oia. The character of this locale, however, shines through its intimate connection to its natural surroundings and the rocky terrain of Thira.
Wine Museum
Located 8 metres underground, it is Greece’s only subterranean Wine Museum. Spanning 300 metres and designed like a maze, this institution shares the story of wine and the day-to-day experiences of Santorini’s viticulturists, starting from the year 1660.
