Constructed between 384-417 AD, this site impresses with its roughly 10632 clay and stone sculptures, 221 caves dedicated to Buddha, and murals covering approximately 1300 square meters, earning its reputation for its remarkable clay sculpting art. It’s often referred to as the Eastern Sculpture Art Gallery.
Next, you’ll tour the Fuxi temple, a notable destination and Daoism temple, considered one of the significant ancient structures in Northwestern China. Previously known as the Taihao Palace, it’s popularly called Renzong temple, serving as a place to honor Fuxi, who is believed to be the forefather of the Chinese people.
