Highlights
  • Puerto Madero - Unique coastal walk along the Río de la Plata, with a duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes approx. in which we will navigate enjoying the views of downtown Buenos Aires, Jorge Newbery Airport, University City, the northern area of the city of Buenos Aires: Vicente López, Olivos, Martínez, the cathedral and San Isidro ravines, to then enter the first section of the Paraná Delta. We will enter through the San Antonio Rivers, the “Tres Bocas” area and then the Sarmiento River, along the route we will see recognized attractions such as the Casa Sarmiento Museum, recreation areas and typical inns of the area, private houses, docks, native vegetation of the Delta, and the particular island life. We will arrive at the River Station in Tigre, where we can enjoy what the city has to offer us.
The service on our boats includes audio-guide in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
  • Puerto de Frutos - The Fruit Port is a small pier on the banks of the Luján River in the town of Tigre, next to which the fruit market is located. They owe their names to the fact that until the middle of the 20th century, fruit production from the Paraná Delta landed there, which was then marketed in the city of Buenos Aires.
  • Paseo Victorica - Paseo Victorica is an exceptional place, combining nature, river views, gastronomy, rowing clubs and historical landmarks.
  • Catedral de San Isidro - The Cathedral of San Isidro is a religious temple of neogothic style. It adopted forms of said style used in Europe between the 12th and 16th centuries, the only difference being that modern materials and techniques were used. The most characteristic of the Cathedral are its slender lines designed from the religiosity so that they point towards the sky. Its facade was restored with imitation stone and exposed brick with tasks of molding the original ornaments in a workshop.

Its main tower is 68 m high. Its base is a Latin cross with three naves with a circular apse. The columns are cylindrical and the stone and brick walls have openings with stained glass made in France and Gothic rosettes.

Upon entering the Cathedral, its grandeur can be appreciated through its forms that stand out from its last restoration. Inside you can see the neo-Gothic style columns and arches that take you to the altar.

River Trip to Tigre - Our guide Fred, was fantastic. Very good English, super friendly and knowledgeable. After the river cruise he took us back to Buenos Aires and showed us round a local market near where we were staying. We would recommend him to anyone. He also does city tours too.

Perfect for a family with small kids! - Such an amazing tour! It's hard to keep the attention of our two small boys, 4 and 7, but this trip kept them entertained with such variety. The tour guide Dario is really kind, friendly and all around awesome. My two kids are futbol crazy and Dario stopped at the River Plate stadium for photos and regaled them with soccer tales. With the lively conversation, the drives were just as interesting as the sightseeing. The boat trip was great with the really nice views. The kids loved hanging out at the back of the boat and enjoyed our time on the water. There was enough downtime to do some window shopping and get ice cream and waffles as well. This tour was a highlight of our Buenos Aires vacation.

Tigre Delta Tour - The guide Anna was amazing, she was very informative. The actual boat tour was relaxing, but it was hard to hear the taped recording if you were outside.

Another great tour with Dario - The Tigre tour was really great. Dario, our guide, was wonderful. Cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Yhe ferry trip was very scenic and relaxing. Tigre was an interesting change of pace from Buenos Aries. Lots of fun market stalls. And thanks to the tour company for making special accommodations for my five person family (the normal tour is limited to four people).

A great tour to the delta - Was a great trip to the Delta. The cruise boat was spacious with good views. Martin was the guide and did a great job in explaining the history and cultural significance. The tour company was also very prompt in communicating the details of the pick up time and the guide’s contact information.Highly recommend this tour company.

Great Guide! - Our guide, Dario, was great; very personable and good sense of humor. Not especially enthused with the boat cruise. Traffic on the way back into town was awful; took 1 1/2 hours to get back. Not Derios fault, it was construction. Overall, I would rate the guide Dario, 9 of 10, and the tour itself a 7.

Very Poor - Myself and my wife often take private tours when we travel abroad. Although they're more expensive, we have always found them to be exceptional, giving a real insight into local life, history and culture. The reviews by others for this tour gave us the expectation of the same level of satisfaction. It started with the expected car transfer to the port a few minutes drive away, followed by the expected 2 hour unescorted boat ride to Tigre. This went as planned with the boat arriving in Tigre on schedule. The tour description on Tripadvisor says "the guide will wait for you in Tigre to tour in a private car the famous streets of San Isidro along with the main points of the City of Tigre, such as Paseo Victorica, the museums and the casino." It also says we will have a 30 minutes stop at the fruit market and a 15 minutes stop at the Cathedral in San Isidro. What actually happened is that when the boat arrived in Tigre, the driver drove us directly to the fruit market a few minutes away, dropped us off and told us he would return in 30 minutes to drive us straight back to our hotel in Buenos Aires. When I said that according to the itinerary we are meant to visit the Cathedral in San Isidro, he replied that we could only have 10 minutes at the fruit market if that's what we preferred. So we had 10 minutes alone at the fruit market (just enough time for an ice cream), then we were driven directly to the Cathedral where the driver left us for 15 minutes before driving us directly back to the hotel. If we passed by the Paseo Victorica, the museums and the casino mentioned in the itinerary, then we don't recall them being mentioned. The driver certainly didn't slow down anywhere to point out anything. He just drove directly to the fruit market, then directly to the cathedral, before driving back to the city. There was no other pause in the journey. The driver was very friendly and chatted about life in Buenos Aires, but he did no guiding. He seemed very pre-occupied in getting back to the city by 2pm because he had another guest to pick up for a tour. On my return to the UK, I emailed Depasseios (the tour provider) and received a very nicely worded response from Alessandro de Luca, the owner. He explained that the driver was a very experienced guide with excellent reviews, and "it was more the company's fault for rushing the guide for another tour". At the time I appreciated his honesty, it was better than denying the issue. On reflection, a nice apology, although it was welcome, does not fully address the issue. We paid £224 for a private tour but that isn't what was provided, certainly not to the standard and extent advertised. Given that the boat tickets cost around £64, we actually paid an additional £160 for 2 x 5 minutes car transfers, plus 70 minutes car transfer via the cathedral back to our hotel. Bear in mind also that we were only taken to the cathedral at my insistence, the original plan was to drive directly back to Buenos Aires from Tigre. In that context, the price was excessive by any standards. I did not ask for a partial refund, and surprisingly one was not offered by Alessandro. I sent a second email thanking him for his reply, and suggested he may want to consider making a donation to a local Buenos Aires charity, to compensate for the overcharging. I received no reply to that suggestion. So in summary, a very pleasant boat trip followed by a terrible tour, which was very rushed, did not cover the full itinerary and was not relaxing at all. Given other positive reviews I suspect this is a reputable company, just having a bad day.
