The main citadel, perched majestically at the highest point of the fortress, houses a museum dedicated to one of Albania’s most revered figures: Gjergj Kastrioti, better known as Skanderbeg. Inside, artifacts and exhibits chronicle Skanderbeg’s valiant efforts to resist the Ottoman Empire’s advance, showcasing replicas of his armor, weapons, and personal effects.

• Kruja Bazaar - The Kruja Bazaar, nestled beneath the historic Kruja Castle in Albania, is a vibrant marketplace offering a sensory experience of colors, aromas, and sounds. Visitors can explore narrow cobblestone streets lined with stalls selling traditional Albanian handicrafts, savory street food, and locally made goods. Friendly vendors engage in bargaining while artisans showcase their craft skills. Amidst the bustling atmosphere, the bazaar hosts cultural performances and echoes Albania’s rich history of resistance against Ottoman rule. This historic marketplace serves as a lively hub where past and present intertwine, offering visitors a glimpse into Albania’s cultural heritage and community spirit.

• Lake Bovilla - Travel for 1 hour to Lake Bovilla. The lake provides a beautiful natural setting for recreational activities such as picnicking and hiking. Additionally, the area surrounding the lake is known for its scenic beauty, making it a favorite spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature.

• Gamti Mountain - We will continue our tour with hiking the Gamti Mountain. Mali i Gamtit is part of the Dajti Mountain range, which is located near Tirana, the capital city of Albania. It’s a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts, offering beautiful scenery and various trails for outdoor activities. The area is known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes, making it a favorite spot for both locals and tourists to explore.

This tour is the perfect day tour from Tirana. It combines amazing nature with cultural and sightseeing tour. We will pick you up from the hotel and start the tour to Bovilla Lake. We hike towards Gamti Mountain and enjoy the views from 600 m to the Bovilla Lake. Our tour continues to Kruja. We start by walking through the Old Bazaar and continue to the Castle of Kruja, which houses Skanderbeg’s Museum. See a copy of the helmet and the sword of Scanderbeg in the main hall, the flags and stems of prominent families of that time who supported the national hero and a lot of the history telling by the guide. After soaking in the culture and history, discover the current arts and crafts in the Old Bazaar. Look for souvenirs, including intricate local handicrafts. Afterward, head back to Tirana.
