First Stop Driving from Podgorica to Viripazar and Sveti Stefan
We will leave the capital of Podgorica to head toward the Skadar Lake park. Passing through rural, local villages, with a strong tradition of winemaking, we will reach Viripazar. As the biggest lake in the Balkans, Skadar Lake is the subject of many legends, stories, and local tales that locals, fanatically pass into generations. Driving from Vizipazar to St Stefan via the windy road of Pastrovicka mountains, we will have scenic scenery and the stunning surrounding nature of the Montenegro Coast.
Second StopDriving along the coast from Sveti Stefan to Budva
Inhabited mainly from the fishermen as a protected Island, St Stefan has an interesting development from the latte 14th century till today. Throughout history, the island and its 12 families have been found themself in between wars, pirate raids, and voting to stay a Venetian Protectorate. In addition, the royal residence of the Serbian Queen and lately an exclusive hotel Chain.
Not far from it stretch Budva, the touristic and nightlife capital of Montenegro. With a charming little old city and citadel, Budva is a clear example of the Mediterranean port cities and their multicultural and ethnic developments.
Third Stop Driving from Budva to Kotor and Podgorica
The next stop will be Kotor. Situated in an unusual gulf, named after its name it has been a very important historical, strategical, and trading center. Founded around the 6th century BC, Kotor resembles an Open Book of history when you can spot different tracks and records from different periods of history. In our days most of the influence is from Venetian time, as for a good amount of time it was part of the Venetian Republic.
