Highlights
  • BunkArt 2 - This museum is actually a bunker located beneath the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It unveils the secrets of “Sigurimi,” the political police that served as Enver Hoxha’s regime’s brutal tool of persecution.
  • Enver Hoxha Pyramid - A 10-minute walk will bring you to the Pyramid. Constructed in 1988, it was intended to be a museum for Enver Hoxha, the era’s dictator. Its unique architecture makes it a one-of-a-kind structure.
  • Peace Bell - Adjacent to the Pyramid is “The Bell of Peace,” crafted from cartridges used during the 1997 Civil War, a time when notorious gangs were rampant. (The pyramid and its surroundings are currently under construction, so you may not be able to get close to the Peace Bell. However, our guide will provide detailed information about the attraction.)
  • Postbllok - Checkpoint Monument - Albania has nearly 173,371 concrete bunkers, averaging 5.7 bunkers per square kilometer, built during the communist era. As part of your tour, you’ll visit Postbllok (Checkpoint), which is both a bunker and a memorial to Albania’s communist isolation. It also features remnants from the Spaç labor camp and a piece of the Berlin Wall.
  • Blloku - To conclude this communism tour, your final stop is Enver Hoxha’s villa in the Bllok district. During his rule, this area was restricted to government officials and off-limits to the public. After Hoxha’s death, it was reopened and has since become a popular hangout and destination.
