Experience a day trip that will provide you an insight into the history and culture of Tirana city, followed by a pleasant walk in nature to explore an extraordinary bat cave, located 15 km east. For a period of 3 hours, we will roam around the key neighborhoods of Tirana—discussing its historical evolution from Roman, Ottoman periods, through the Communist era to the present. Our journey will span from the major areas like the Main Square, Toptani region, Main Boulevard, to the former Blloku area.
Subsequently, we will journey southeast to the village of Pellumbasi to explore the cave situated there—approximately a 30-minute drive. We will then embark on a trail that leads to the cave, tracing along the Erzeni River, known for its crystal-clear blue water in the summer and charming canyons. After a short hike of approximately one hour, we will reach the cave’s entrance. Prepared with head or hand lights, and perhaps a change of shoes due to expected mud, an extra t-shirt is recommended as the inside temperature is cooler than outside. The Pellumbasi cave, a karstic formation, measures around 150m in length, 10-15m in width and 45m in height.
