Duration: 8 hours
Cancellation: 24 hours
Highlights
  • Wadi Shab - Discover the incredible oasis of Wadi Shab - one of the last places in Oman where you can chill in fresh blue water surrounded by mountains. Enjoy a rewarding full-day experience as you explore this spectacular waterfall in a cave. Start the tour with pick up from your hotel in Muscat. Hop into an air-conditioned vehicle and set off on a 2-hour scenic drive through the otherworldly landscapes of Oman. Along the route, stop at a local coffee shop to try an energizing Omani tea. When you arrive at your destination, hidden away in the canyon of the dry river Wadi-Shab, take a very quick boat ride to the other side of the bank. From here, embark on your 40-minute hike. During the walk, experience the awesome power of nature which has forged the rock formations of this impressive canyon. Observe how the local farmers live and work, maintaining their crops in rough, rocky lands using the old irrigation system as their water supply. - Fins Beach - Dive into Oman’s hidden gem! Crystal waters, pristine sands, and unforgettable vistas await. (Only for private tours) - Bimmah Sinkhole - Bimmah Sinkhole is a water-filled depression, structurally a sinkhole, in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. A lake of turquoise waters, it is 50 m by 70 m wide and approximately 20 m deep. The sinkhole was formed by a collapse of the surface layer due to dissolution of the underlying limestone. However, locals believe that it was created by a meteorite, ‘Hawaiyat Najm’, which translates to ‘The Falling Star’ in Arabic, and hence the name. To preserve the sinkhole, the local municipality developed a park, Hawiyat Najm Park (Haweat Najm Park), around it, along with a stairway leading down to the lake.

Exceptional! - Mahmood was an exceptional guide. The tour is not to be missed, a truly once in a lifetime thing to do, amazing from start to finish! Never thought I'd jump from a height into two different pools, or swim in a 25 metre deep pool! The scenery is breathtaking, absolutely stunning. Mahmood was friendly, chatty, and a fantastic host. If you're not sure about the tour, just book it, you won't regret it!

Amazing and Unique Experience - This day trip was absolutely incredible. The drive from Muscat is pleasant and not too long, with a brief stop at a service station where you can get food, coffee and swimming supplies at a very good price. Also the scenery through the mountains and along the coast is breathtaking. Wadi Shab itself is the best part of the day. If you can handle the forty minute hike (which itself is not too challenging, but the heat at certain times of the year will test your perseverance) you are rewarded with more stunning scenery and then the pools, which are actually nice and cool. Swimming along these and then into the cave at the end was unlike anything I have done before. I would highly recommend bringing googles or a face mask do that you can actually look under the water and witness how deep and surreal the place is. Contrary to expectation, the walk back to the bus through the same hike is much easier. The restaurant we stopped at provided a traditional Omani/Arab lunch (with a vegetarian option) which exceeded all expectations. Finally, you have the sink hole, which is a nice place to have a relaxing swim at the end of the tour. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend doing this on one of your days in Oman. It was the highlight of my trip. And Rashid, our tour guide and driver, was very friendly and helpful.

Hidden waterfalls in the desert - Jamal was absolutely awesome, knowledgeable and great fun with our 3 boys (10, 10 and 12). Swimming in the Wadi was an absolute highlight of our time in Oman - much better than we expected and we had high expectations!

Best day in Oman! - Abdullah was a 11 out of 10 tour guide! My Dad is 73 years old and cannot swim, yet Abdullah was incredibly patient with him and pulled Dad (wearing a life jacket) along the whole way through the river even into the cave so he could relax and enjoy himself! Wadi Shab was our favourite place during our five days in Oman - absolutely beautiful! Thanks again, Abdullah!

10/10 Tour guide and experience - 10/10 experience and tour guide. I'm not a good swimmer and Rashid was patient and helpful throughout. He took good care of our group. Added loads of humour to keep us going. I had such a great time and would do it again.

If you want visit one place in Oman..... - At 44°C and no shade, it was not the greatest weather to hike 3 km and swim/wade for another 1/2km. But in the end the cave and the waterfall were so worth it. Nasser the driver/guide was exemplery. In the sweltering heat, I was ready to call it quits many a time but he wouldn't let me give up. And in the end thanks to him, I got to see a sight which reminded me why life is all about getting out of ones comfort zone and sweating it out for hours to experience a few moments of bliss. (P.s. It's probably not that difficult a hike, but at high noon on one the hottest summer days made it an almost deadly affair.)

Great guide and amazing views! - Mohammed was very helpful, he gave us clear instructions on what to bring and the pickup time and place. En route to Wadi Shab he gave a little background of Oman as a country and culture. Will definitely be recommending this experience to friends and family!

An absolute must-do when in Oman! - Amazing experience and definitely the highlight of our trip to Oman! It is worth noticing that the hike can be pretty challenging and the entrance to the cave is not for claustrophobic people.
