Great tour & Guide—Lousy of them to try to change the tour last minute! - I was also contacted last minute (literally as I was waiting for my driver) to change the tour for the day. As I had booked this two months previously and specifically flew to Ethiopia for this tour, I was very disheartened at their attempt to change me to an "Addis City Tour" instead. I have already been to Addis and if that was the tour I wanted, I would have booked that. Regardless, the tour was amazing & Haben was a delightful guide. I strongly recommend Haben!

Recommended: A Great Day Trip from Addis - A great day and an excuse to get out of Addis on a public holiday. This day trip is a must whether you're a history enthusiast or you simply enjoy sightseeing. Tour guide Haben and driver were welcoming and friendly with lots of information provided along the way. Lunch was a traditional Ethiopian cuisine and a local beer. The tour didn't feel rushed and lots of opportunities for walking around and taking photos. The only detracting issue -- and it's not the fault of the tour guides! -- is that the government doesn't appear to place a priority on maintaining or enhancing these historical sites so that they can be enjoyed and better appreciated by tourists and visitors.

A day full of adventure and culture - Visiting the rock church of Adadi Mariam and the UNESCO-listed Tiya site from Addis is a real adventue. I was in the safe hands of driver Tekeste and the friendly guide Haben. Haben guided me through the history of both places. Tekeske and his 4WD made it possible to visit the places. This was not only an historical experience but also a an immersion in the hectic life of traffic in Addis and the rural life at the countryside nowadays. Haben and Tekeste are both the perfect company for this adventure. They both speak really fluendly English. I hope to meet them again on a next trip in Ethiopia.

Would totally recommend Guide to Addis tour - Our tour was very well organized and our guide, Daniel, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and provided us with a great first experience visiting the area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Addis for the first time. We had plenty of time at each stop to see the sights.

Bare Minimum - I booked this excursion while spending a few days in Addis and I was left a little disappointed. The day prior, I wad contacted by management to see if I would like a different excursion than the one I originally booked. Come the day of the excursion, I was picked up half hour early from my hotel by a driver who spoke little to no English. I was taken to the company's office where we met with the business owner, and who I suspect was, the tour guide for the day. There was also another traveler who had booked a separate excursion. Management attempted to have the other traveler change her plans and go on my excruciating. The other traveler was understandably upset, as she had paid for a different one. Ultimately, she was taken on her excursion by the guide and the owner instructed the driver to take me on this one. One thing I enjoy about excursions is getting to hear the history from the guides so the day ended up being an awkward silent drive with my driver who spoke no English. The church was a quick stop. Fortunately, Tiya has their own guide who explains things in English. Lastly, we were too late for Melka and it was closed. I, by no means, blame the driver. Whom despite the circumstance did his best to communicate. For management to give me the short end of the stick and not what I paid for is extremely frustrating. Especially knowing that the prior day before the other company exceeded my expectations. If you'd like to consider this tour and would like a memorable experience, I suggest you book with Aman Ethiopian Tours.
