Experience the landscapes of untouched buildings in areas where evacuation orders in the Difficult-to-return Zone have been lifted. Witness the ongoing decontamination and demolition work, reflecting the local communities’ spirit of rebuilding.

TEPCO Decommissioning Archive Center - Operated by TEPCO, this facility uses video and diorama displays to document the decommissioning project and educate visitors about its progress.

Michinoeki Namie - This roadside station symbolizes the town’s revitalization. It supports daily life with shopping, dining, and resting facilities. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine and purchase a variety of vegetables and seafood.

Namie-machi - Namie Town-run Ohirayama Cemetery
Located on high ground about 2 kilometers from the coast, this communal cemetery offers views of the Ukedo district and the Pacific Ocean, highlighting the tsunami’s devastation. Initially an expanse of fields, it became a cemetery to honor the wishes of local residents, housing the graves of disaster victims. A memorial monument serves as a requiem and a warning to future generations, preserving the memory of the disaster.

Ruins of Namie Machiritsu Ukedo Elementary School - Situated about 200 meters from the coast, Ukedo Elementary School was partially destroyed by the tsunami. However, no lives were lost due to quick evacuation. The school remains preserved to demonstrate the disaster’s impact and lessons, aiming to educate future generations and raise disaster prevention awareness. The first floor, severely damaged by the tsunami, remains almost unchanged, while the second floor features panels detailing the damage, evacuation, and messages of support from visitors.

The Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum - This museum serves as the entry point for Hope Tourism, offering extensive resources, images, and exhibits that provide a comprehensive view of the events and recovery efforts from the earthquake and nuclear accident to the present.

Futaba-machi - JR Futaba Station area:
The former Special Zones for Reconstruction and Revitalization, part of the Difficult-to-Return Zone, are centered around JR Futaba Station. Even after the evacuation order is lifted, buildings from the earthquake’s immediate aftermath remain, while hopeful murals adorn the area, symbolizing the town’s resilience.

Tokyo - After the tour, your driver will return you to Tokyo. You and your guide will part ways at JR Futaba Station in Fukushima. The return journey to Tokyo takes about three and a half hours.
