This is a private tour exclusively for you, featuring private transportation. The Nevado de Toluca is the fourth highest mountain in Mexico. Currently, it’s the winter season with snow. Located nearly 3 hours from Mexico City, this extinct volcano is unique for having lagoons within its crater. During our tour, you’ll learn more about this mountain.
The tour reaches a maximum height of 4,400 meters above sea level. From the crater, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the mountain, landscapes, and the lagoons known as the “Lagoon of the Sun” and the “Lagoon of the Moon.” This area was considered sacred in pre-Hispanic times.
The hike is generally easy, though there are some ascents that make it more challenging, such as the peak called “Humboldt,” from which you’ll have an incredible view of the lagoons. On clear days, you can even see the second and third highest mountains in the distance. Currently (December 2023), it is cold with temperatures around 4°C.
