Moving.. - Very solemn location. Informative and moving. War is horrible. Peace in the world .. now more than ever. My father served in WWII on Okinawa the horrors of the war led him to becoming a pacifist.

This place is worth the visit - highly recommend. - We were on a cruise & had the day in this area & decided to see the underground headquarters. We caught a taxi & so worth the expense to visit this place and have plenty of time to see it. The entry fee was very cheap. There are taxi that comes & goes & was able to be taken back to our ship. Highly recommend to visit

Former Navy HQ - It was very informative and interesting. The staff were pleasant. The tunnels lead to different areas of the headquarters. If you're very tall, you'll need to bend your head a few times while in the tunnel. It was an overall good experience.

The sad signal from the former naval headquarters - I think the number of Japanese who experienced the war is decreasing, and the memories are fading. I went to Okinawa to learn about what it was like at the time, as it was a fierce battlefield and a place that experienced a painful past. I want the whole country to continue to talk about the horrific events of war, from the struggles at headquarters to do something, to the suffering of military personnel and their families, to the various circumstances that drove them to the brink, and to leave them for future generations.

Interesting and definately worth a visit - It was a very sobering experience. The tunnels were very interesting to see but it was also very sad to think of what they all went through. In saying that, I am glad we went to visit.

Must See in Okinawa - If you are interested in WWII, this is an amazing site. You really get a feel for the war's impact on the island of Okinawa. We learned so much.

I appreciate the history lesson. And sharing it with my family. - I appreciated the fact that there was signage in English. It caused me confliction because I saw the awful challenge of the American forces and the despair of the Japanese forces and the civilians who sought protection from the Japanese.

Friends - An excellent place to recognize the spirit of Japan in WW II. My father's enemies are not my enemies.

A piece of history - Very affordable. Many signs in English. Makes you think of the horrors of war and the plight of Okinawa’s people to be drawn into conflict.
