As you approach the harbor, you’ll be greeted by the sight of fishing boats, sailboats, and the picturesque waterfront. The centerpiece of your visit will likely be the opportunity to pose for a picture in front of the world-famous tugboat. This iconic vessel, steeped in history, stands proudly by the waterfront, offering a perfect backdrop for capturing cherished memories. As you stroll along the harbor, you’ll breathe in the salty sea air and enjoy the scenic views of the Penobscot Bay. The harbor’s bustling activity, with fishermen unloading their catches and locals going about their daily routines, provides a glimpse into the heart of coastal Maine life. On calm days you may wonder what the fuss is all about. But wait until the waves kick up a few notches. Thunder Hole is a small inlet, naturally carved out of the rocks, where the waves roll into. At the end of this inlet, down low, is a small cavern where, when the rush of the wave arrives, air and water is forced out like a clap of distant thunder. Water may spout as high as 40 feet with a thunderous roar! Hence the name: Thunder Hole. - Jordan Pond - This vantage point has some of the best views in all of Acadia. - Cadillac Mountain - See where the sun first hits the United States every morning. Fantastic vistas of Acadia National Park and surrounding area! This stop is only available after May 18 of each new season. - Stephen King’s House - A stop at the Stephen King House in Bangor, Maine, from the exterior front behind the beautiful and spooky iron gates is a captivating experience. The imposing wrought-iron gates, adorned with intricate designs, set an eerie yet intriguing tone. They provide a tantalizing glimpse of the mysterious world beyond. Peering through the gates, you’ll see the iconic Victorian mansion shrouded in a sense of Gothic charm. The house’s architecture itself, with its dark, looming presence and intricate details, hints at the eerie tales spun by the renowned author. As you stand at this vantage point, you can’t help but imagine the creative genius behind the gates and the countless spine-tingling stories that have emerged from within. It’s a moment that captures the essence of Stephen King’s literary world, where the ordinary can quickly turn extraordinary and the everyday can become the stuff of nightmares.

Awesome experience - A.J. was awesome. Because of heavy rain, we were unable to go to Acadia National Park. Due to his great knowledge of the area, he was able to fill our day by taking us to gorgeous, quaint towns in Coastal Maine. He took us to the botanical gardens and everyone in our group greatly enjoyed it He is an awesome tour guide. I highly recommend this tour.

A must-see within Acadia National Park in Maine is Cadillac Mountain - Loved visiting Cadillac Mountain that is located within Acadia National Park. This is the rist place in all of the US to be touched by the sun's rays every morning for a certain part of the year. AJ our tour guide who is with Globe Trekkers and his brother Dennis was the BEST!

Phenomenal!!!! - AJ was phenomenal!!! We had the pleasure of having AJ as our guide on Saturday, September 2nd. He was incredibly nice and patient. He took us on our adventure through Maine, including the swinging bridge, the tallest public bridge and up to Cadillac mountain. I mention these because I am extremely afraid of heights. He was very empathetic to my plight and always made sure I was doing okay -- even when my kids (adult kids, but my kids nonetheless) ventured beyond my own comfort zone for them. He even went out of his way and drove us to Stephen King's house on our way back...even provided a prop for the "just in case he is home and comes out"...He provided a good amount of snacks and drinks and his recommendation of Route 66 in Bar Harbor was on-point. Fantastic all around is what we have to say about AJ. Kudos to Dennis for giving us AJ as our guide. Thank you again. -- Sandra (mom), Kailene, and Julian

Great way to spend your day! Book now! - Booked this month's in advance for our trip we had planned. They had excellent reviews, and the itinerary looked amazing. I was able to get in contact with the tour guide over a week in advance. Arnie contacted me personally and helped me plan the best day trip for my girlfriend and I. I had been planning to propose for a while on this trip and day specifically. He did a wonderful job and went well above and beyond to help me plan an amazing day and the most perfect proposal I could ask for(you do not have to follow the itinerary in the posting, he will tailor to what is capable for the time frame that you desire). He even had the magic to turn the weather around, which was due for rain, and we had beautiful blue skies. On top of that trip, the advisor seems to have an issue with causing cards to recognize their charges as fraudulent. So at exactly midnight 2 days before the tour attempted to charge me, and it got flagged, TripAdvisor immediately canceled it. But Arnie got me in contact with one of the owners of Globe Trekker Tours directly, and he re booked me and got my payment handled just fine. Arnie was wonderful, full of knowledge and stories, and we enjoyed our time with him. Thank you again. Highly recommend. Any questions or concerns, contact them directly. You may find it more helpful than going through TripAdvisor.

Dissatisfied - What a disappointing experience ! I knew we were in trouble when our guide arrived to pick us up in a little tiny Prius for a 2 hour ride to Acadia ( a very rough ride in the backseat). There were what I think were animal scratches on the inside passenger doors, animal hair, dirty windows and the smell was not pleasant. Our guide was nice but because the car was so noisy and he was very hard of earring it was hard to hear what he was saying and he couldn’t hear what we were asking him. We were suppose to have a lobster dinner included which he keep insisting that we do when we got back to Portland not sure why because I thought the point was to have it somewhere on our trip route. Never did have dinner because we got back so late. For the amount of money this private trip cost the transportation provided and the guide requirements need to step it up.
