Tough but totally worth it - Among all Havier’s tours this is the most physically challenging but it is totally worth it! Hiking on the mountain is not an easy feat and so assess your skills objectively before deciding to try this one. But the view from the top is just breathtaking - you will love it. 😍

Small group immersion in the real outdoors! - I've connected with numerous outdoor outfitters and hiking companies over the years and this one, Toronto Eco Adventures, ticks off ALL the right boxes for me. 1. Small groups: I've been on four outings (mostly winter, which is my favourite season) and the group has never exceeded 6 participants, which makes for a cohesive group -- and very relaxed, fun and sociable. 2. You are getting a genuine outdoorsy nature experience. The hikes billed as "hikes" are definitely hikes. The outings described as more relaxed are indeed that. I've explored Bruce Peninsula in the dead of winter -- which was like an Ice Palace out of Disney -- but I've also embraced a few engaging hikes. Most recently, I hiked The Crack up in Killarney, a somewhat rigorous hike. 3. The leader. An outdoor group experience is a good as the leader. Javier is fully trained in the outdoors -- but is also passionate about nature. He layers in lots of information about the areas he visits along with the outdoorsy experience. 4. I've met an interesting and, at times, eclectic group of people on these outings, often travellers who've only set foot in Canada a few days prior. The trips are a full-day commitment which is expected as we don't do over-visited hiking areas close to major cities. The Bruce Peninsula. Algonquin Park. Killarney Provincial Park. (And there are some beach getaways that are a little off the beaten track.) The real litmus test of a successful outdoor operator: repeat visits. On 3 of my 4 outings I encountered familiar faces from previous day trips. Lots of fun chat, as well. I highly recommend Toronto Eco Adventures.
