All the little details - Loved all the little details and moving parts. Even the Sky Dome opens and closes! I hear that Little Montréal is coming soon. Looking forward to seeing that.

Guided tour recommended - A very enjoyable and educational experience. We opted for the guided tour which was running a deal during Boxing day. I highly recommend the guided tour to catch more of the details and behind the scenes. Made the visit that more enjoyable. Can't wait to see the additional exhibits when they finish.

Fabulous activity! - Fabulous experience. My husband and I went with our 2 adult daughters. We all found it fun, entertaining and endlessly interesting. We only had 2 hours and wished we had a lot longer to appreciate the extraordinary detail in each section of the miniature cities.
It’s easy to see just how much time went into every single piece- from brainstorming, to concept, to execution. There’s lots of fun little details put into each area.
I may never have the opportunity to visit the Yukon but seeing parts of it represented in miniature made it feel like I caught a glimpse of what it might be like there & get a little flavour for the place!
The staff are super friendly & helpful. We enjoyed getting an overview of the space when we entered by one of the staff members and talking to one of the miniature makers was just as enjoyable. Can’t wait to return with more time on hand to enjoy taking in all the details!

Amazing Visit to a Unique Space - Our time at Little Canada was a real show-stopper. We have five extended family members who live in Toronto.....so they clued us into this hotspot upon our recent Thanksgiving visit. We are from Pennsylvania and enjoy museums, but had never been to Canada.
WOW! This place was clean, beautiful, intricate, and well-curated. Our immediate family includes Mama and Papa, and with 3 littles, aged 11, 9, and 7. My kids, husband, and I were equally captivated. We loved the attention to detail, the incredible scenes depicted, the lighting transitions (from light to dark within each scene-scape) and the whimsical humor incorporated into many scenes.
The best part, by far, was coming across the sweet women in the workshop, whose knowledge riveted us! We learned about the processes involved in creating this miniature world, as well as its inspiration from another museum in Germany. We learned about the materials made in-house (using any one of 4 3D printers!), versus those purchased for modification and personalization. My son couldn't stop asking about the use of clay, acrylics, and various materials that make scenes come alive.
We really loved learning about the artistry and dedication of the people who work there. What a treasure. We will return! Again and again. Thanks for your hard work and passion!
On the logistics side of things: crowds were not big. We arrived close to 1 p.m. on a Friday, after school tours were complete. We stayed there for at least 3 hours, which seems like a longer time than most might stay. I'd guess giving yourself 2 hours might suffice. Admission was around $40 per person, but I think it was less once we got home.....cuz we're not Canadian and the conversion is different. Even the gift shop was thoughtful. Miniature recreations (I don't know what to call these....they're little figures of your family) were a little pricey for us.....but there were nice options in the gift shop to help us remember our stay in other ways.

An Enjoyable Visit to Our Home and Miniature Land! - Located in The Tenor, Little Canada proved to be an enjoyable unscheduled stop. After a couple days ambling around Toronto, my partner and I were feeling a little lazy and didn’t really want to go far beyond our hotel (we were so sluggish, in fact, that we didn’t get going until noon!). After a quick lunch at Chipotle, we decided to patronize Little Canada. Having previously experienced Miniature World in Victoria, we thought it would be fun to see miniatures on a far grander scale and, well, we definitely weren’t disappointed! Little Canada was such a fun, immersive experience! What we’d initially thought would take an hour and a half ended up taking double that amount of time! The displays of Canada – which run the gamut from the Maritimes to British Columbia (“Little North” was still under construction) – are so detailed it’s impossible to “rush” through the displays if you want to truly take it all in and appreciate the level of detail, craftsmanship and effort that’s gone into creating this miniature version of our country. Thousands of little “people” give life to the displays; the cities and their “natural” surroundings have been painstakingly re-created to give an air of authenticity; many of the displays have motorized parts (think Rogers Arena in Toronto, the trains, and cars zipping about); and the scenery switches from day to night. I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say one could easily spend the better part of a day here and still run out of time!
Of note, the nerd in me was happy to see some of Douglas Coupland’s works receive the miniature treatment: Float Forms in Toronto and the Digital Orca in Vancouver! How cool is that? Oh, and if you want a bit of a challenge, try finding Maurice the Moose in the various displays. It will certainly add time to your stay, but it makes exploring the installations that much more fun!
I will note that, while many iconic symbols of Canada get a tip of the cap, I did find it rather strange the Empress in Victoria did not get the miniature treatment, nor did the Hotel Vancouver. How come? I know, I know . . . you can’t fit everything!
One last point of interest: Once you’ve completed your adventure across Little Canada, you have the option of partaking in their “Littleization” process whereby they “shrink” you and you can choose to have the little figure placed somewhere in Little Canada OR have it shipped to you (we opted for the latter). It takes a little time – we received ours at the 6 week mark – but is so worth it, just like this whole experience!
If you have the time, we highly recommend checking out Little Canada! It’s a great way to explore the country and get a taste of what it has to offer. After visiting, you just might be encouraged to actually go and visit other parts of our home and native land!
