Highly recommend - Excellent! Great amount of objects with well written descriptions. Even free entertainment by live musicians. We spent the entire afternoon there.

Family fun - Great museum with lots of cool artifacts. They also have hands on kids activities in some areas. Great for all ages - 0-100.

Great indigenous section - The excellent indigenous section was worth the admission price alone for me but this is such an extensive museum with something for all ages. You really could spend the best part of a day there. Bata Shoe Museum is a couple of minutes walk away if you want to combine two attractions easily.

Royal plus - We went on a thurs as soon as it opened, comfortable to where you can see magnificent exhibits such wide variety what a great way to end our vacation. The admission fee was fair, and I like that there are seating areas to take a break. In my opinion, this was worth the time to pencil into your vacation plans. I don't think you will be sorry.

A best to do - Exactly as described a super museum on a human scale that does well in 4 hours max not too many things but the main thing is we loved among all Inuit art and also the superb Egyptian part. To rest us the restaurant in the basement is really impressive a very large selection of dishes at very economical price for Toronto (burger of choice at $9) nothing to say a very good time to spend here

Great time! - Specifically went for the Wild Cats exhibit but also attended Immersive Earth.
Wild Cats is a great exhibit! It was amazing to see the cats up close. It was very well done. Did not disappoint. Fascinating learning experience. Cut outs of cats were a bit odd and seemed out of place. But did not detract from the experience.
Immersive Earth was a bust. Not what we expected and it was uncomfortably cold. Would not recommend.
Toured the rest of the Museum. Quilt exhibit is stunning. A beautiful display of such an intricate art form. Really lovely.
All in all, a great experience. Highly recommend.

Quilts - A Glimps of Herstory - My friend mainly took me to see the quilt exhibit. I was moved by the one by Casey House, naming those fallen from AIDS, as well as another made by a Haudenosaunee person, depicting a passport and a fist...a reminder that their people's existence here long predates we Europeans'. My only disappointment was the proliferation of displays entitled"Figurine" from an era when the feminine embodied the divine and thus ought to have been labeled Goddesses. The highlight of our trip was the cafeteria, located in the basement, which had the friendliest and most helpful staff, although the space was over air conditioned. A jovial fellow served my friend and I heaping gluten-free sandwiches made to order. Yum!!

Too expensive - Extremely expensive and as a canadian Citizen I feel disappointed with the amount of taxes we pay that we still have to spend over $53 dollars for my daughter 11 years old and me. Without including special exhibitions which are extra. I have been to New York and residents get suggested ticket price more as a form of donation. Because they pay taxes. I have been in Europe and in London England museums are free. Again donations are welcome. But with inflation, charging a single mother with one child $53 and change amount of dollars for a few hours in a museum. Seem abusive and pure robbery. The museum itself is in construction right now so there is a lot of blocked areas that you can not get to see. Still full price and very very expensive for the average Canadian. This Museum is the only choice for a lot of people with children specially in winter when outdoor activities are limited, but who can afford this?

Wish we knew before going - Went to the ROM for a date day with my wife. Most of the exhibits that we both wanted to see were closed or blocked off ( the Roman Empire and the dinosaurs/ mammals) wasn’t worth the trip down to see it. The high point was finding the one water station that we found. On the website they there’s one on every floor. I guess the others were blocked off with construction. We will be waiting till everything is done, and hopefully we will go back and see what we missed. I wished they said on there website what exhibits were closed.
