A fun time making good food - Mauro was an amazing host and chef. We made sofrito to season mofungo (made little crispy appetizer baskets) with chicken. It was delicious. Also made Pina coladas which were the best I have had. We made killer guava and cheese pastries for dessert. Pro tip- do bring your alcohol of choice to enjoy while cooking as the Pina Coladas will be in the second hour of class. Also genius as only 2 hours so still plenty of time for the beach or other activities.

Great lunch in piñones! - Mauro was great! We met him at the Main Street and we walked to the cooking school house. He taught us how to make a piña colada, sofrito, a plantain basket and quesitos. They were all delicious and easy to make. We spent about and hour and half there for lunch and had so much fun! Definitely recommend

MUST DO if you love local food and want to be able to recreate back home - Chef Mauro and the experience were fantastic. Highlight of our visit to Puerto Rico. He taught us how to make delicious home-made adobo marinade, and other savories and sweets (including home-made pina coladas!). We used the adobo to season chicken, but I will be trying it on fish at home this week. So yummy and fun. It is worth the short Uber trip to Pinones from OSJ, which has great beach-side bars and restaurants to enjoy before or after the class. A must-do if you want an authentic local experience that can live on in your kitchen for the rest of your life.
