This is a unique experience that will provide priceless memories. Our Naturalist Guide will share learned secrets and expertise about this marine species and its history in Tortuguero, in a totally natural environment with profound respect for nature.
In the past, during the turtle nesting season, the people used to crowd the beach looking for the turtles, so they were easily disturbed because of too many people around them. If there are too many people on the beach, the turtles return to the ocean without laying their eggs. Now, the Tortuguero National Park, the STC and the turistic industry, are working with a new system; instead of having all the visitors walking down the beach, professional spotters search for the nesting females, once they find one, they radio the position to the guides, and the guides take the visitors directly where she is nesting, using a trail behind the beach. You and your guide will be waiting for this call at a specific place sorted by TNP

The tour always takes place even if it rains, it cannot be postponed for another day.
It’s important to understand that the chances of having the opportunity to observe a sea turtle in its natural habitat are high, but the possibility of not seeing one exists. Therefore, please take this opportunity as a gift from Mother Nature.
Recommended attire: Wear dark clothes, closed-toe shoes or hiking shoes, rainjacket, insect repellent and reusable water bottle.
Cellphones or any other electronic device aren’t allow during the tour.

Do not hesitate to book with them. Experience and unbeatable treatment! - Carmen in the evening with the spawning tour and Elvis in the morning with the boat tour were excellent in the treatment, explaining everything perfectly, and doing everything in their power to make everything perfect. On the tour tomorrow we saw many animals , and in the spawning of turtles of the night we saw all the spawning and the return of the turtle to the sea.

An unforgettable experience - We toured on June 30, 2024, exactly one day before the official start of the green turtle spawning season. Being outside the official date, the operation is different than usual. Our Guide (Carmen) had a special permit to take a small group (maximum 10 staff per Guide) and you take the tour walking directly along the beach looking for turtles that are spawning. The guides organize among themselves and collaborate so that no turtle is disturbed and everyone has the opportunity to see the magic of this impressive process. We were very lucky and managed to see one turtle spawning and two others returning to the sea (which also impresses!). In addition, our experience was much more enriching because of the extensive knowledge of our Guide, Carmen, who explained everything with a passion and a respect for nature that reflected a personality devoted to the whole process having the least possible impact for the animals while still enjoying the incredible moment. So much so that even starting with a group of 10 people we were divided into 2 groups of 5 people to make the experience more personalized and at the same time the groups were more manageable. Quite a luxury to have lived the experience. We couldn’t take any photos, or even carry a device, and it seems the right thing to do. It is also so spectacular that it remains engraved on the retina. Thanks for everything!

Magic Spawning Night - A magical night with Carmen discovering the spawning of turtles. He explained in detail the biology of these peculiar animals and we were lucky enough to see the complete spawning process. Carmen conveyed her passion for turtles and this territory. Thank you so much!

Great guide to this experience - I was lucky enough to do the turtle tour with Carmen. It is a spectacular Guide!
I explain the whole process of spawning the turtles and manage the whole issue of permissions.
He was waiting for us at the door of the accommodation before the time and provided us with flashlights to see along the way.
I would definitely return to repeat this tour with her!
