It was a self guided tour... - It was a self guided tour in the medieval city, it was a quite interesting and touristic destination.

BOOK IT - One of a kind experience, the city within the walls was mesmerizing. Cute little pub/hotel outside the walls if the interior gets confined

Leave the driving to City Tours of Toulouse - I wish that this service was available all over. You get driven to your destination, in this case Carcassonne. You then have the day to meander at you own pace and experience what you would like to see, eat, etc. Then you head back to the bus and back to Toulouse. Very reasonable as well.

Make the Trip to Carcassonne ! - The ramparts and history was definitely worth the visit. Cute shops, candy stores and restaurants everywhere. A must when I n Toulouse, Montpellier or in the area.

Good value trip to Carcassonne - I consider the cost of this trip to lovely Carcassonne to be good value, as the price also included the entrance fee for Chateau Comtal and the ramparts. The only downside for us was that it was too long a day, and we saw everything we needed to with a bit too much time to spare.

We were very lucky that... - We were very lucky that the weather was bright & sunny (it was mid December) so we had great views from the battlements across the town below and to the mountains in the distance. Everything went as planned and the coach that transported us was very clean and comfortable so overall a very good trip.

Probably nice when it’s less hot - The castle is beautiful but we could have done the whole town in two hours. It was also very hot and the bus was old and without air conditioning.

A blast from the past in Carcassonne - The site of he medieval city of Carcassonne dates back to more than 400BC. The inside of the enclosed city is only accessible by walking the various cobble stoned narrow streets full of hidden corners where artisans give you a taste of how things were done in the day. There are ample souvenir shops to keep young and old happy. A guided tour is the best way to get a feeling for the place. Unfortunately there is no high ground to take photos of the layout. The best general photo can be obtained when walking on the main street outside the village. For a cost, a small tourist train takes you around the perimeter of the village while a recorded tape explains some of the highlights through headphones.

Not a tour - The location is great. However this is only a bus ride. Someone checks you in at the beginning. And tells you to be back at the bus on the other side. And nobody speaks to you the entire rest of the time. And don’t be late for the ride back. It just leaves.

Find an actual tour, this is just a bus ride. - This isn’t a tour whatsoever. It’s just a bus ride. There was no description of what we’re seeing, the background of it, or anything else. Additionally, we were presented a pamphlet with a QR code to use an audio guide that was only available in the native language (French). Otherwise there was text to read in English. There was no forewarning about this nor a recommendation to bring earphones.
