A friendly guide with great knowledge which is improving all the time - Our guide Mohamed was THE most friendly guy you could wish to meet. Although he is still learning some of the key species, his manner and knowledge was good, and he made us feel very welcome. He first pointed out to us a roosting Red Necked Nightjar, then tried to find a Black Crowned Tchagra by call alone. We eventually saw one just at the end of the Massa River path. He also pointed out a flyover flock of Bald Ibis, Moussier's Redstart, roosting Little Owl and a field full of Stone Curlew before leading us to exceptional views of roosting Bald Ibis. If he could find a few more specialist local species that would be a target for birdwatchers from Western Europe that would be the icing on the cake. I'm thinking of species such as Cream Coloured Courser, Red Rumped Wheatear, Bar Tailed Lark and Fulvous Babbler to name but 4. I'm sure this could be added to the itinerary for after lunch and then we would definitely give the guide 5 stars.

Well run birdwatching trip with excellent views of Bald Ibis almost guaranteed. - A prompt pick up by the friendly host Waheed was a great start. We had no telescopes with us, only binoculars but saw some excellent birds. Firstly we stopped at Oued Souss to view birds like White Storks, Flamingos and waders. Traveling to Massa, we were in the company of another lovely guy Mohammed. We walked for about an hour following the Oued Massa and found species such as Black Crowned Tchagra, Red Necked Nightjar and Moussier's Redstart. A drive through semi desert towards the main event saw us adding Little Owl and Stone Curlew to the list. At the main destination in the National Park of Souss-Massa we had stunning views of over 100 Bald Ibis. This was worth the trip money alone as far as we were concerned. A lunch in a Berber house was our only experience with 'traditional' Morocco all holiday and was excellent too. The welcome and food here was amazing. Another small wander along the Massa River completed the day before being dropped back at our hotel by 4:30pm. A few ideas that could give it a 5* review: Ask customers about dietary preference prior to the trip; provide a telescope on request;include a visit to more desert areas for speciality species like Larks, Wheatear and Courser; Mohammed was excellent, but his knowledge of some species needs a little more depth. Overall it was a really good trip, with lovely people, 50+ species seen, well organised and I would definitely recommend.

Terrible trip avoid at all costs NOT BIRDING trip - Instead of a specialised birding trip, which I paid £105 for, I was taken on a trip with 5 others who were not birders and had paid £25 to go into the desert and see camels and shopping on the 4x4 trip. The guide knew nothing about birds and didn’t even have binoculars, pointing out ‘ducks’ at one point. I’d have been better on my own as the others had no interest in birds at all. The guide/ driver was not a specialist and had no birding knowledge. He refused to acknowledge that this was not a birding trip, saying he had been told to take me to bird sites. Avoid at all costs.
